Who is Treadhead2004 AKA Steve Wood?

Hello, Thanks for taking the trouble to look at this page. Hopefully it will reassure you that it is perfectly safe to trade with me and answer any questions that you may have.

I joined ebay back in 2001, the main purpose being to clear the clutter from my loft. I have been collecting and building models all of my life and I had accumulated a large collection of science fiction memorabilia, model kits and war gaming models and accessories. I felt that it was time to de-clutter and I reluctantly started to sell off my collection. In doing so I found that I really enjoyed trading on ebay and another hobby was born!

I have been building models since I was about six, my first being the Airfix model of the Golden Hind. I have since built most of the Airfix range, many of the Tamiya 1/35 tanks and a considerable number of Revell and other kit manufacturers products over the last 44 years! I am a big fan of Games Workshop products and I am a keen gamer and member of the Warhammer World gaming club, the 1^st Company Veterans. I currently have a Necron army that I am building to Apocalypse level! I model and paint to a good gaming standard and I have made it through to the final round of the Golden Demon in 1999 with one of my models. As well as Games workshop, I have a fascination for the First and Second World wars, the Battle of Waterloo, Agincourt, the English Civil War, The Roman Army....in fact I just love military history! So whilst I’m no expert, I think that I have a degree of experience and knowledge. My first full time job was as a sales assistant in Mansells Models in Paignton, now long closed, and it was there that I was able to experience all aspects of the modelling hobby and this experience has stayed with me through my life.

I used to have a very demanding full time job as a manager in a major retail company and it was my hobby of building and painting models that kept me sane! The thing is, I know how important my hobby is to me, so I will ensure that my customers are treated accordingly and I will do my very best to help you enjoy your hobby. Now that I have left the rat race, I decided to set up my own web based model shop and together with my Wife, Julie, we are gradually building the sort of model shop that I would have liked to shop in. I hope that you will too.

In case you are wondering ‘why treadhead’? Well I love Tanks…that’s me in the England shirt in the T55 turret!

Arcane Scenery Items

The Arcane scenery brand is part of my hobby that has grown and changed from a de-cluttering exercise into a trading hobby on the net. Arcane scenery items are either items that I have made or sourced especially for war gamers and modellers. I have used these products myself and I think that they represent good value for money. I am always on the look out for interest items to add to the range. I really think that a good scenic base or diorama can turn a good model into a masterpiece! Kit Range

I have now found a number of brilliant kit manufacturers to sell in my shop. All of the kits sold are new and in mint condition, just as you would find them at your local model shop. My aim is to build consistent ranges with good availability. Where I stock a range, I will do my best to carry as many of the lines that are available to me. If there is something that you would like, please contact me via ebay and I will do my best to track it down for you. I am focusing on 1/72 scale military kit & soldiers at the moment but will expand into 1/35 and 54mm in time.

Postage

If you are buying one or two kits they will usually be securely packed in brand new Mailing bags and posted via first class post within two days of receipt of payment. If you are buying more than two kits please request a total. I will reduce the postage for all combined purchases. I only charge a nominal amount to cover packing, sellotape, printer paper, cartridges and all the other stuff that you get through when trading on ebay. Please note that I do recycle packing to keep my costs down but I will ensure that everything is securely packed and I always get proof of posting. If you forget to request an invoice and pay full postage, we will refund all overcharges over £1.00 via paypal without being prompted. However, if you feel that the postage is too high, please let me know so that I can confirm the Royal Mail price. Our business is not based on selling postage. We would like you to spend your hard earned money on models!

Returns

If you are unhappy with your purchase or it is faulty, I operate a no quibble returns policy. Just send the item back to me in it's original packing and I will refund your payment and original postage. The returns postage will be your only cost. I will do my utmost to resolve any problems to your satisfaction.

Communications

If you have any queries at all please contact me via ebay messaging. You can use e mail but I access ebay daily and you will get a much faster response. I know how important your hobby is to you so I will do my best to ensure that you always receive the best possible service from me. Errors do occur from time to time, please be patient with me and I will resolve them.
