 Involved in the motor industry for 30 years. I am now semi-retired having stepped down as the director of a main dealership for the last 25 years. In that time I watched customers have children who grew up to become customers themselves. I was lightheartedly nicknamed Uncle Steve and despite having those days that we all have at work from time to time I loved going to work. Many of the customers became friends and when people who spend thousands of pounds with you feel that they can come in just for a "social" to tell you about their holidays, family or to ask about you and your family, you know that you've got job satisfaction. Sure life wasn't all plain sailing and still isn't but nobody ever told me it would be. Is yours?

The automobile is my life and my living. When not gardening,selling or haunting my former workplace I can be found in a variety of classic and vintage cars. The collection of these cars ebbs and flows in accordance with time,space or the demands of my long suffering wife or the demands of my bank manager and has included everything from 1920s vintage Bentleys through to Mark 2 Jaguars,E Types, Lotus Cortinas,Austin Healeys and Mini Coopers. From time to time you may see the odd one appear for sale here. Incidentally I had never used Ebay to sell anything before December 2009 and have found the experience since both entertaining and enjoyable.

So most of the cars on Ebay have come in part exchange from a main dealership. It is quite common for me to sell cars that I actually sold new,or know the history of. I always make every effort to describe the cars for sale accurately - warts and all -  that's the way it should be. Why drag somebody half way across the country to disappoint them at their journey's end? So if a car has a slippng clutch,or a noisy engine or horrible paintwork it is priced accordingly and the defects will be in the description. I like Ebay,but it only works properly if we do. I never end auctions early, discuss reserves, or accept offers whilst the auction is in progress. My telephone number is included in every advertisement and I am happy to answer queries at any reasonable time.

So the rest is up to you. If you think that the car you see advertised might be right up your street,or driveway or cul-de-sac then bid away.

I don't think buying a car should be a chore,it should be relaxed and enjoyable, so feel free to call at any reasonable time.
