But if you live too far away to attend in person, there are lots of ideas on our website to help you organise your own event or party to help us celebrate. Donations can be made by cheque or Paypal.
What can you do?
1. Give us a present!
£30 pays for a session with a hospice counsellor for a child facing the loss of a parent
£25 pays to keep a home care nurse on the road for a week
£5 pays for a smoothie for a patient who has a poor appetite,
2. Hold a party and fundraise for us
Whether it is a coffee morning, a BBQ, a dinner party or a night out at the pub, we'd love for you to hold a party for us. Check out our website for ideas - - there's even a fabulous cake recipe from our very own Hospice chef!
3. Rise to the challenge!
Is 2009 a big birthday year for you too? Why not get 30 friends together to join in one of our events or if you are not in our area, why not organise your own challenge and share your hard work and success with us.

THE HOSPICE
The Hospice of St Francis is the only unit of its kind which provides professional support and care for people with terminal illness across West Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire completely free of charge.
The Hospice provides inpatient, day and home care, family support and education and training in end of life care.
A new purpose built Hospice, with 14 beds, opened to patients in January 2007 with 11beds funded. Every new bed we open means that we can care for up to 30 more patients a year so opening the last 3 beds is vital.
The hospice relies on donations to support its purpose built bedded unit, day care, home care and family support service that is vital to the people cared for there each year. The Hospice supports a catchment area of 300,000 people.
Each year the free services provided by the Hospice of St Francis help more than 800 people with terminal illness across the West Hertfordshire and Bucks area, as well as supporting their friends and families.
It costs more than £3m a year to provide our services, but only 19 per cent of this figure comes from the NHS, so the Hospice is reliant on the goodwill of its community, including ebay, to keep on providing their care.
Key facts:
-
We have 900 volunteers who help us in all aspects of the hospice in the kitchen, in the units, with family support, gardening, fundraising, in the shops, in the offices.
With only 19% of our £3.3 million yearly budget coming from the government, your support is crucial.
