Hi and a warm welcome to the Tackletraders 'about me' page. We're based in Torquay on the Southeast coast of Devon. We aim to provide quality fishing tackle and accessories and supply them to you at wholesale prices. We pride ourselves in our excellent customer service we will always help and advise where we can. How it all started
My passion for fishing started many years ago fishing for sticklebacks, with a net and bucket, in the River Wandle in Morden, Surrey. My younger sister and myself used to get some right tellings off (surprising we're still alive really LOL) for sneaking out on our fishing adventures but my love for fishing still carries on today. In 1976 we moved to Kingswear (Opposite Dartmouth) where my dad bought me my first boat and that was it, fishing was forged into my soul. When the school holidays came, the most often used words were 'Have a good day' in the morning and 'Did you catch much?' in the evening for the full 6 weeks. Whilst I enjoy all types of fishing, my real passion is for sea fishing. Obviously I do love to catch the big ones but my real aim is to catch fish for the table. My favourites are bass and plaice, with many others, such as pollack, mackerel and cod all a very close 2nd. With all this in mind it made sense to start a business which involved fishing, hence the birth of Tackletraders.
