For the duration of our thirty-two year history, we, as the creators and owners of the SOUL TRAIN weekly television show and related television, recording, and theatrical productions, have never licensed, sold, or auctioned any of our programming to be distributed on videotapes. Furthermore, DCPI has never produced any SOUL TRAIN videotapes of its own. Therefore, please be advised that videotapes containing any programming or episodes of SOUL TRAIN or SOUL TRAIN specials are bootlegs!

DCPI has abstained from entering this market in order to honor our commitment to the many artists who have loaned us their talents for what they understood to be television use only. Over the years, we have worked diligently to maintain a solid reputation in both the music and television industries as an honorable organization that keeps its word to the artists and our audience. As a result, cutting-edge artists continue to make appearances on SOUL TRAIN, and we will not compromise our integrity by allowing these performances to be bootlegged.

DCPI intellectual properties are protected under U.S. trademark and copyright laws. Anyone who, without DCPI permission, produces, copies, distributes, displays, or performs DCPI copyrighted materials is liable for copyright infringement. The manufacture, distribution, and/or sale of bootlegged copies of SOUL TRAIN weekly episodes or specials is illegal and involves criminal penalties.

A: If DCPI requested removal of your auction from the eBay website, the item that you were selling infringed a copyright or trademark owned by DCPI.

Q: How can I identify counterfeit or infringing items?

A: Very easy -- All videotapes containing any programming originally seen on the SOUL TRAIN television show, or SOUL TRAIN specials are counterfeit and infringe DCPI copyrights and trademarks. It is important to recognize that even though these programs were originally broadcast on a television network, and it is legal to record them for your own personal use, it is not legal to sell or distribute these copies. Therefore, any videotape or other copy of the SOUL TRAIN television show being offered for sale is an infringing copy, and auctions offering such items for sale will be terminated.
