Hi. I'm Helen, also known on eBay as SpeedySteedyUK.  I live in Beccles in Suffolk with my husband and two beautiful daughters, which at the time of writing (June 2009) are aged 7 and 4. I started selling on Ebay because even after building an extension, we were running out of space to put things. I am still gradually working my way from room to room, deciding what I can and can't bear to part with. I have sold many items that I have owned, a good proportion of which were brand new and unused. However, I took the plunge in October 2005 and opened my eBay shop called "Just Keep Learning".  It specialises in educational toys, games and learning aids for everyone. It is a subject close to my heart and as a Mother, helping and encouraging my daughters to learn new things is a way of life. I enjoy selling on Ebay because it brings in a bit of money (always helpful with two growing children) and I can fit it around the girls' busy social lives.

As a seller on eBay, I aim to -

• Only sell items that I would be happy to buy myself


• Describe items as accurately and honestly as possible


• Be helpful and friendly before and after the sale


• Answer emails as promptly as possible


• Wrap items securely to minimise risk of damage in the post


• Dispatch as quickly as possible after payment has cleared


• Keep my buyers updated on the progress of their item


• Maintain my high level of positive feedback

My policies on payment methods, delivery charges and international bids are given on each listing.  I have given as much information that I can think of but please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

One of my selling conditions is that all buyers must make contact within 3 days of committing to buy an item and pay within 5 days. However, I do appreciate that we're all human and we all make mistakes. I would much rather you let me know there is a problem with payment (i.e. the dog ate your cheque book, you're skint until payday etc) than you ignore me hoping I'll go away (which doesn't work. If it did my husband would have tried it years ago ;-)
I can only be of help if you get in touch - so don't be a stranger. 

I wrap all items carefully to avoid damage in the post. Therefore, I cannot be held responsible for damage caused by Royal Mail workers having a clumsy day. However, in the event of your item arriving damaged please let me know. I will put in a claim with the Post Office and pass on any compensation I receive.

I try to keep my P&P charges as low as possible (I certainly don't make any profit from it) but when looking at the cost of P&P please bear in mind that it covers more than just the postage. I also have to pay for packaging, labels, printer ink, plus time spent preparing your item (around 6 minutes per sale. At the current minimum wage of £5.73/hr that's 57p per sale on man-hours alone). However as I dispatch every weekday, my biggest cost is transport to the Post Office so that you can get your items quickly.
To save my customers money on P&P, I always offer reduced P&P for multiple purchases providing they are bought and paid for together in one transaction. Please contact me for further details.

Please remember that I am just a Mum trying to make some extra pennies to treat the family every now and then, not a huge business. Therefore I do not offer returns, refunds or exchanges for any reason unless specified in item description. However, if there is a problem then please contact me and I will do what I can to sort things out.

There are very few problems that can't be sorted out with good communication!

I am a keen recycler and recycle packaging wherever possible (why not, it would only end up in landfill!)  so your item may arrive in a second-hand jiffy bag / envelope.  It will always be wrapped securely though - sometimes I just get carried away with the parcel tape!

Away from eBay, I do a lot of singing and perform with several local societies in stage musicals and operettas. In fact, most of the stuff I buy on eBay is a costume or accessory for some show or another (and then I sell it again afterwards!)
