Hello everyone, & thank you for looking at my "me" page. My name is 'Julie' (though most people call me 'Jules'), I'm 31 years old, & I'm a Yorkshire lass born & bred (with a lot of Irish from my Mum). I spent the first 23 years of my life living in wonderful 'York' (apart from 3 years while I was at Bradford Uni). Then I spent 6 years living all over the country (due to my hubby being in the Royal Navy). However, we finally bought our first house in Grantham in August 2006 (if I have my own way we'll never move again, lol). My family consists of my wonderful hubby Pip, & our 2 gorgeous rescue dogs (a Greyhound/Staffie cross & a Labrador/Rottweiler cross, both are black) - they're our little treasure & terror!
I studied 'Interdisciplinary Human Studies' (Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Logic, & English Literature) at uni quite a few years ago & hoped to get a career in Mental Health, but being a Navy wife I had the joy of moving house all the time, so it made it hard to have a job for long. Also, I have had ME (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) for quite a few years, & in recent years it has got considerably worse, making me too poorly to have a job outside the house, so eBay has now become my full-time job.
If you asked me a few years ago what I loved doing I'd have said going to rock gigs & drinking vodka. However, due to my ME/CFS getting worse, gigs are often too loud & tiring, & I'm now intolerant to alcohol (& pretty much any chemicals/artificial ingredients in food, so I cook almost everything from scratch, avoid most processed foods & sugar, & eat a lot of organic vegetables). Although I'd love to just be well again, I try my hardest to remain positive, & one positive thing that has come out of my condition is that it has forced me to slow down - my life no longer revolves around work, work, work. I appreciate the simple things in life like the sun shining, the smell of flowers, scenic walks in the country, reading, doing cross stitch, cooking, collecting My Little Ponies, & watching films. I've even started growing my own vegetables in the garden & conservatory in 2009 (I keep getting excited each time a baby seedling pops it's head out of the compost, lol).
Some of my Generation 1 (G1) My Little Ponies being bathed & drying off (my parents brought them over to my house from their loft recently - having been stored there for about 17 years they smelt damp so a lovely bubble bath, shampooed & conditioned hair seemed the best option, lol)

You know you have CFS when you are cautioned to slow down by your doctor instead of by the police
You know you have CFS when you wake up with that morning-after feeling, and you didn't do anything the night before
You know you have CFS when everything that works hurts, and what doesn't hurt doesn't work
You know you have CFS when you can't finish a conversation, because you don't remember what you were talking about
You know you have CFS when you realize that caution is the only thing you care to exercise

THE STORY BEHIND PUNCH 'N' JULIE
One day while sat at home bored I discovered ebay. I spent the following weeks spending a fortune on cross stitch, & wondered if there was a way for me to 'make' a fortune on ebay instead. So my mini career started with a butterfly & a star paper punch. Now I have over 50 different paper punches to make a huge variety of shapes for all you crafters out there. As for my shop being called "Punch 'N' Julie", I knew I had to have the word 'punch' in there somewhere, & so I used the puppets 'Punch & Judy' as inspiration.

I now also sell hundreds of different themed craft buttons, metal charm embellishments, plastic slide mounts, eyelets, scrapbook albums, papers & cardstock, stickers & peel-offs, glue dots, card blanks & envelopes, card toppers, paper punches, acrylic jewels, beads, etc.......I still haven't made that 'fortune' I'm after, but it gives me a little pocket money & keeps me entertained. I've made a few great friends through ebay & recommend it to everyone I meet!
