Welcome eBayer!

Recycle-IT!  Is a now a co-operative worker owned Community Interest Company operating in the north west.

What is a Community Interest Company?  (C.I.C.)

A C.I.C. is a new type of Limited company that is established for the benefit of the community rather than members.

About us & What we do

All hands are needed to load a 20 foot shipping container John gives the thumbs-up before the container is sealed and departs for Africa

We take redundant IT equipment from industry and export to a wide range of countries including those in Africa, Pakistan, Poland and Jamaica and to the former USSR. We hope to continue to expand our partnerships within other European Union countries and also fill increasing requests from other parts of the world, particularly Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

We also refurbish them and install new new software particularly for people with no previous access to computers or the Internet.  Those without computers are more and more disadvantaged and disenfranchised from a range of services. In the U.K. we give charities and voluntary groups the opportunity to computerise correspondence or information and increase fundraising ability. We also help students and schoolchildren make the most of their education.  Refreshingly, more and more older people (silver surfers) are now taking advantage of our low-cost entry into the information age and discovering a new world and increased virtual mobility through access to email and the internet.

Why do we sell on eBay?

With the introduction of the W.E.E.E. directive into UK law everyone has both a legal and moral responsibility to dispose of redundant equipment correctly.  Where possible we avoid scrapping IT equipment and offer it on eBay to provide it with a second life.  Although the vast majority of our supplies are exported, we can only supply what they have requested.

This gives eBay members an opportunity to side-step the 'throw away society' and gives us a valuable cross-subsidy to our main activities.

We've recently teamed up with our former colleagues at Aspire Sheffield who now manage our eBay shop and provide a packing and distribution solution for our customers

What equipment do we sell?

We sell just about everything and anything to prevent these products ending up in landfill.  We sell computers and accessories and we may occasionally sell odd non-computer related equipment.  Our normal goods for sale include: PC systems - docking stations - zip drives - routers - keyboards - mice - laptops - printers - scanners - software - graphics cards - memory - and much more.
