Qwikfast Ltd. started out as a
small fixings and fasteners department of a large waterworks company in
Dorchester, Dorset. As the need for stock and tools for the
company grew it was obvious that this 'department' was very quickly
becoming a company in it's own right. Once established in 2003,
Qwikfast Ltd. very quickly obtained an impressive array of trade
accounts which would see the company through until they made the break
and moved to their own premises in 2005.
This transition, in only 2 years, led the way for Qwikfast to really get
their name known locally to the trade and DIY enthusiast alike.
Steady growth over the next few years saw the introduction of new lines
almost weekly and the need for more and more staff. Qwikfast is
now a premiere stockist for over 50 manufacturers and employs five times
more people than it started with and has full time dedicated departments
for online sales including eBay, local counter sales, warehouse,
deliveries, accounts, marketing and also has full time sales
representatives to make sure that our customers are well looked after.
Although Qwikfast now has new box and fork lift pallet racking systems,
mezzanine flooring, warehouse space and extra staff the shear volume of
large account customers all over the UK and Ireland plus online sales in
excess of 1500 parcels per month worldwide means that, after what is
considered such a short time in business, they are looking to move
premises again in order to keep on top of the exceptional service they
are acclaimed for. |

Payments
Payments can be taken by PayPal1, Cheque2
and Debit or Credit Card3.
Refunds will be made via the same method as the original payment, for
instance, if you pay by PayPal from your credit card we cannot refund
directly to your credit card, it will be sent to your PayPal account.
Refunds direct to Debit or Credit Cards must be returned to the same
card, we hold the last 4 digits, name and expiry date of each card
processed to ensure this. We DO NOT keep card information on file
for subsequent payments or refunds to protect both the company and the
consumer from theft.

Shipping
We are always looking for ways to improve shipping
which range from upgrading services or changing couriers entirely for
better service or rates which we can then pass on to you, the customer.
Most couriers will charge a premium for the first package or weight up
to a certain amount but after that prices drop rapidly so we will always combine carriage where we can.
We try to keep information up to date but as we have so many listings
and multiple suppliers we cannot guarantee they are all correct all of
the time. If you feel you are paying too much carriage or the
system has not calculated fairly then please contact us.
We will send most larger parcels with a courier,
this means that most items will require a signature so please make sure
that somebody is available to sign for your parcel, if you need the
items sent to a different address or any special considerations then
please contact us
before purchasing.
Services include;

Next day 'by 09:30' extra cost*
Next day 'by 12:00' extra cost*
Saturday 'by 09:30' extra cost*

Royal Mail Services;
Smaller parcels or special requests will go by Royal Mail 1st Class 'Recorded Delivery'.
This is not a guaranteed service and will only allow us to 'track' the
parcel after it has been delivered or if the postal service have
attempted delivery but were not able. It will, however, enabled us
to claim in the event of damage or loss or enable you to have it
redelivered by putting the details in over their website. Items
sent by this service are generally next day but can take longer so if a
delivery is important then it can be upgraded to a next day courier
service at an extra cost.
Northern Ireland is classed as UK Mainland with Royal Mail but Republic
is classed as international and will be subject to a surcharge. If
it's not shown on the listing what this will be then please enquire
BEFORE purchasing.
Insurance;
A certain amount of insurance is, in most cases, included in our carriage rates.
Location - UK Mainland;
Our carriage rates are setup as the courier charges us and reflect Zone
A unless otherwise stated. If you are not within the UK mainland
(according to Zone A) then there will be a surcharge for delivery of
your parcels. If you purchase items at the standard rate and a
surcharge is require then you will receive a message followed by a
request for the difference in carriage. This payment must have
cleared before any of your items will be dispatched.

Policy
Warranties;
These vary from manufacturer to manufacturer depending on the
product. Information on warranty will either be in the listing /
advertisement or with the item itself. If for any reason the warranty
is not listed or needs to be clarified then please contact us.
Returns; Items purchased generally (unless
otherwise stated) carry a 14 day return period. If the item has been
ordered in error then it can be returned providing that the item is
sealed in it's original box and arrives back to us undamaged and in re-saleable
condition. Returns for this reason may be subject to a fee to cover the eBay final payment and subsequent relisting
charges as well as the PayPal transfer fee. Carriage paid will not
be refunded for either the original transaction or return journey.
In the event that Qwikfast Ltd. send you a defective or incorrect item
it will be collected and then a replacement item sent out free of charge
providing the incorrect item sent has not been used and is in
re-saleable condition.
Please make sure that you include full contact details including a
daytime telephone number and any reference you may have been given
or your eBay user ID so we can trace the original sale. Also
please make sure a full description of the reason for return is included
so the warehouse staff can organise it's refund or replacement quickly
and effectively.

WEEE
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is
now UK law. The
legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment
and recovery of waste electrical equipment.
The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like
high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to
return their waste equipment free of charge.
The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year,
making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.
- Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill, where
the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water
contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat,
wildlife and also human health.
- Many
electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled.
Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and
also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending
electrical goods to landfill
Distributors of new
Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing
the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.
Qwikfast
Ltd. is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free
take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new
Electrical or Electronic product from us.
For example, if a customer bought a new fluorescent tube from us we
would accept their old fluorescent tube and prevent it going into a
landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their
WEEE item to us at Qwikfast Ltd.
- WEEE Returns, 7 Wyvern Buildings, Grove Trading Estate, Dorchester,
Dorset DT1 1ST within 28 days of purchasing their new item.
Under the WEEE
Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the
crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below;

Goods are marked with
this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and
should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that
they can be recycled.
