PROJECT ZAMBI is dedicated to raising awareness of the estimated 15 million children who have lost parents and relatives to the AIDS epidemic in Africa and around the world. Hasbro has established the PROJECT ZAMBI Fund within the Hasbro Children’s Fund, to support organizations working directly with children orphaned by AIDS in Africa.

PROJECT ZAMBI came to life following visits to communities in Zambia that are working to support the widows and children of the AIDS epidemic. A passionate group of Hasbro employees came up with the idea for the global campaign and product, ZAMBI THE BABY ELEPHANT, to raise funds and awareness of the needs of these children. ZAMBI THE BABY ELEPHANT is a special edition FURREAL FRIENDS toy. The ears and
feet of ZAMBI THE BABY ELEPHANT feature a special pattern designed by children
from one of the African communities, Chikumbuso, dedicated to caring for AIDS orphans.

Hasbro has committed to donate a minimum of $500,000 (in U.S. dollars) to the PROJECT ZAMBI Fund, part of the Hasbro Children’s Fund, beginning in 2009, and hopes to expand this global campaign to include additional Hasbro products and brands in the years to come. By purchasing ZAMBI THE BABY ELEPHANT, consumers will be supporting programs that work directly with children orphaned by AIDS in Africa.

Hasbro will donate half of the net profits from the worldwide sale of ZAMBI THE BABY ELEPHANT, a minimum of $1.25 per product, to the PROJECT ZAMBI Fund.

Hasbro, Inc. is a company with a long tradition of supporting programs that benefit children around the world. Hasbro’s efforts now include its own global initiative called PROJECT ZAMBI, developed to support organizations that provide care and comfort for children who have been orphaned by AIDS in Africa.
