"It's
a good opportunity to be able to help Oxfam with this project. We
race in Brazil every year, and therefore it would make sense to
be involved in this project. It is great that items that could save
our lives during a Grand Prix can then contribute to improving the
lives of others."

The
Oxfam / Renault F1 Team auction
Following the success
of last year's auction, the Renault F1 Team is again joining forces with
Oxfam to raise money for its campaign to provide water for poor rural
communities in North Eastern Brazil.
Items which will be
auctioned over the next six weeks include Fernando Alonso's and Jarno
Trulli's overalls, a Jarno Trulli replica helmet, other items of clothing,
parts from Renault F1 cars and a VIP visit for two to the Renault F1 Team
Technical Centre based in Enstone, UK, hosted by Bob Bell, Deputy Technical
Director.
All money raised from
the auction will go towards Oxfam's project in North Eastern Brazil, where
11 million rural people do not have access to drinking water. Ensuring
access to a safe, clean water supply is the top priority and, in partnership
with other organisations, Oxfam is launching a huge campaign to build
one million cisterns to collect rainwater in the region. Each cistern
costs £300 and has a storage capacity of 18,000 litres - enough
to supply a family of 6 with its drinking and cooking water for at least
8 months of the dry season.
"I hope
people will bid with enthusiasm for these items." Jarno
Trulli
