GRADING
All items are graded in accordance with the 'Record Collector Grading System'
that appears inside the back cover of each month's 'Record Collector' magazine. The abbreviations
used in our item descriptions are as follows :-
NEW
If an item is graded as 'NEW', this means that the item is Brand New and has been acquired directly from one of our suppliers.
Any item graded as 'NEW' has not been pre-owned by anybody else.
RECORDS
M (mint) - The record is in Brand New condition with no marks or deterioration in sound quality. Covers and inner sleeves are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Still Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
NM (Near Mint) - Better than Excellent, but not quite Mint.
EX (Excellent) - Shows some signs of having been played, displaying a few light surface marks.
The packaging may also have slight wear and/or creasing.
VG (Very Good) - The record has obviously been well played, but displays no major deterioration
in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and an occasional light scratch. The
packaging displays normal wear and tear without any major defects.
We very rarely offer records for sale that fall below the
VG grading, but if we do, we will try to give as accurate a description of the faults as
possible. CDs, DVDs and Videotapes
CDs and DVDs are graded as mint if the playing surface appears perfect, and as excellent if the
playing surface contains a few light surface marks. If the playing surface contains
more than a few light surface marks, then the disc will be graded as VG. All CDs and DVDs are
guaranteed to play perfectly. Obviously it is not practical for us to play all videotapes
that we purchase from beginning to end. We always play a few minutes of each video in a number
of places on the tape. When the picture or sound quality appears to be anything less than
excellent we immediately dispose of the said videotape. Books and Concert Programmes
Books are graded as 'mint' if they look perfect, 'excellent' if they show slight signs of wear
and 'very good' if they display noticeable signs of wear and tear, such as scuffing, creasing or
browning of pages. All books graded as VG will be fully intact with no major defects unless
otherwise stated. General
Where more than one grade is given for an item, we always grade the record, disc or tape first,
and the main packaging such as sleeves and CD booklets secondly. If a third grade is given,
it will be for extra items such as, inner sleeves or posters.
Our main concern at 'Noize Solution' is that ALL of our customers are happy with what they buy
from us. That is why we offer a NO QUIBBLE refund on every item that we sell. Despite our efforts to grade every item strictly, we accept that on rare occasions
it is possible that a particular item may not meet with a customer's expectations. In the
unlikely event of this happening to you, all we ask is, that you return the item purchased
within seven days (in the same condition that you received it), and we will
then immediately refund the full cost of the item (along with the value of the postage stamps
on the returned parcel) within 48 hours.
