MELIANW is a small business with high standards administered from Cranfield, between Milton Keynes & Bedford. I mainly sell radio controlled cars & parts, specialising in TAMIYA. There are usually parts available for LUNCHBOX, MADBULL, PUMPKIN, FROG, GRASSHOPPER ,HORNET, TT01, TA04, TL01, TA05, F201, SUBARU BRAT + MANY OTHERS. Occasionally listed are complete cars, spares or repair cars & used parts. There's an extensive stock of parts/spares to be listed which is constantly being updated. TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR THE SALE OF ITEMS:

By bidding or buying an item you are agreeing to the terms set out here and on the item description page. If there's anything you don't agree with please do not bid or contact me before bidding. The terms are fair (I hope) and aimed at protecting you as the buyer and myself as the seller. These terms are the unfortunate result of years of having to deal with a very small minority of people that do not use Ebay the way it was intended and as Ebay offer little protection to sellers we have to do what we can to protect ourselves.

FORMAT:

The selling format is fixed. If there is no 'buy-it-now' or 'best offer' shown, it is a fixed price item or auction only. Fixed price means fixed price. Buyers requesting a buy-it-now price when there isn't one shown, or trying to get discount off fixed price items may simply find they become blocked from buying anything from me with immediate effect. This is because refusal may offend and result in poor DSR's and/or feedback being left if the buyer decided to proceed with the purchase anyway. The same applies to any transaction at any stage that I feel may result in poor DSR's and/or feedback for any reason. The buyer will either not replied to or referred to this paragraph. I am a business and I'm not in the habit of giving my items away for less than they cost me, if I did I wouldn't be in business you'd have to look elsewhere, probably at higher prices!! 

MORE PICTURES?

Due to additional photos now costing 36p each (for 30 day shop listings) I now only upload the initial one free photo on each listing. If you need anymore pictures of an item please ask via melianw@tiscali.co.uk with your email address. The reason for asking directly to my email address is that many messages are being blocked by ebay with contact details in and buyers think I'm not responding to a message they have sent but I have never recieved!

BIDDING/BUYING:

You bid to buy. You are legally bound to complete the purchase if you win or buy an item. I do reserve the right to remove bids although I will not do so by request as I've had too many people using the same old excuses: I let my friend use my computer - my 2 year old bid on the item by mistake - my cat walked across the keyboard and placed the bid in error etc etc. These sort of excuses have ruined many auctions in the past and cost me a lot of money in fees/lost sales etc. IMPORTANT: If you have zero feedback or have left or been left negative or neutral feedback you need to contact me prior to bidding or buying as there are plenty of people happy to dish out negatives on genuine sellers for no good reason now that Ebay have stopped sellers leaving appropriate feedback for buyers.

PAYMENT / COLLECTION:

 I accept Paypal only for post items but if you wish to collect please read the following very carefully ;)  There are an increasing number of reports of people paying through Paypal and collecting an item only to then report it as item not recieved. The seller has no proof of posting so the buyer gets their money back from from the seller through Paypal. I hope therefore that you are able to read between the lines here and 100% of people  will choose to pay cash if they are collecting in person. This also allows the buyer to inspect the item before paying for it. Ebay do not allow a seller to say they will not accept Paypal, so I won't, and your paypal payment will be accepted as I cannot block it, but as they offer NO protection against this simple scam I may refund your payment (this is what I have been advised I should do by Paypal themselves!). Sorry but I hope you understand and the reason for having to do it this way, if you don't understand please do not bid/buy or email me first for clarrification.. I do not accept cheques, postal orders, money orders, bank transfers or any other method of payment. For postal items payment must be within seven days from when the item ends or is purchased. Some items require immediate Paypal payment. Collection items must be paid for in cash and collected within five days of the auction ending. Please contact me within 24 hours of the item ending to arrange collection. Collection items are located in CRANFIELD which is half way between Bedford & Milton Keynes, approximately 10 minutes from either J13 or J14 of the M1 (our postcode is MK43 0BP if you want to check distance/route from your location). I am unable to accept courier collections as I'm out during the daytime most days which is why I also have to ask that collection items are picked up during the evenings anytime after around 5:30 ish, this includes weekends. If this causes a problem please contact me prior to bidding to see if alternative arrangements can be made.  Any item not paid for within the time limits mentioned above will be reported to Ebay and the non-payment process will begin.

POSTAGE:

In order for Paypal protection to work I have to post to the address on the Paypal payment so if you need an item sent to an alternative address you MUST edit the address during the payment process. Mainland UK only unless otherwise offered on the listing. The P&P charge covers the cost of postage & packaging (usually actual postage cost plus between 20p - £1 for the packaging). I do combine postage but due to the nature of the items I sell (many people buy varying quantities of items at once) I recalculate and refund any postage saving rather than just saying £1 etc per additional item. This way the buyers pays the lowest possible price that I charge for postage no matter what they order. For example two small light items can often be sent within the postage charge of just the first item, so in this instance I would not charge anything at all for sending the second item (as long as all items are bought at the same time). Email me prior to buying if you want me to hold an item that you will wish to add to at a later time as I make regular visits to the post office to get items sent as quickly as possible. I cannot be held responsible for delays caused by the postal system, I send 99.9% of items same or next working day.

RADIO CONTROLLED CARS:

The radio controlled cars I sell are not toys. They are more aimed at teenagers & adults. They require regular maintenance and adjustment. Please do not bid on any radio controlled car if you have little or no knowledge about them or fully appreciate the attention they require.

BIKES:

Unless othewise stated any bike I sell is used and should be expected to be found in used condition with general marks & wear & tear. Please see photo(s) for best description of the item. I check the basics such as brakes/gears (unless otherwise stated i.e. 'unchecked' or 'spares or repair'). Any significant damage or faults noticed will be mentioned in the desrcription (again unless it's unchecked or spares or repair). I recommend that all bikes are checked over prior to use, you're welcome to view any bike or any other item prior to bidding if you wish to, just contact me to arrange.

FEEDBACK:

Once you receieve your item, are happy that it fits the description and the transaction is complete, please be kind enough to leave me some positive feedback and some good star ratings. As the seller, I will respond to your feedback once it's been left for me and I know from your feedback that you are satisfied with your purchase. Obviously if there's a problem please contact me first so we can try to resolve it. I didn't get a score of over 5000 without any negatives ever by being unhelpful ! If you don't like leaving feedback first, I'm happy for no feedback to be left by either party if that's what you would prefer, if not please take a look at my comments and comments left for others and if it's still an issue I'm afraid you may be better off not buying from me as this has always been normal feedback procedure and I'll be sticking to it!!

RETURNS AND MISC:

Some listings use stock photos (usually B.I.N.) but otherwise you are bidding on the actual item shown, in the condition as shown. Please check the picture(s) as opinions can vary regarding condition. Any item described as 'spares or repair' may have damage/missing parts or not work. I will conform with the Sale Of Goods To Consumers Regulations 2002, The Sale Of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) and Distance Selling Regulations. No warranty is expressed or implied on any item. Returns are not accepted on auction or spares or repairs items. For new buy-it-now items if you feel the need to return an item please make sure you have thoroughly read these terms and conditions and contacted me first, a replacement will be sent or refund given if out of stock. Postage costs for returned items will not be refunded and I advise using a recorded/trackable service as until it reaches me it is your responsiblity! Background items are not included in the sale of an item (unless mentioned otherwise). Older/used items will not be in new condition. New items will be in new condition (unless otherwise mentioned) .This may seem like common sense but unfortunately there are some buyers that expect everything they buy to be in mint condition, used or not, so please make an allowance for ageing/weathering/fading/marks/wear & tear etc. Please also make an allowance for the odd 'foreign' piece when buying large quantity items such as Lego/Duplo/Knex etc. Once it's out of my hands I can take no responsibility for any item so the buyer should check the item before use for safey reasons (mainly but not only applies to bikes/toys etc). Apart from a few fish & snails ours is a pet and smoke free home.
