TILLY 16th January 1999- 13th July 2008

Back in 1991, inspired by my two daughters, then 5 and 2, and my baby son, I started a mail order childrenswear company called Little Treasures, making and selling the traditional clothes that I loved to dress them in. I had loved designing and making since childhood and Little Treasures gave me the perfect opportunity to indulge my passion for hand-smocking.

The following year our family was complete with the arrival of our second son and Little Treasures, my fifth baby, has grown alongside my children...  

We now also make a small collection of ladieswear, often inspired by the vintage patterns that I collect, plus a collection of nightwear under the separate Pyjama Party label. Our clothes are sent to our loyal customers throughout the UK and around the world...

I still try to indulge my passion for smocking whenever I can; I like to design ever more elaborate designs to stretch my imagination and embroidery skills. When I get an idea in my head, it is pretty hard to shift it until it has made its way onto a piece of fabric!!   

We are currently re-branding under the new label, Tilly Charles. (Yes, that is after 2 of the dogs!) If you would like details of what we do please do mail or call me.

One of my favourite parts of designing my collections is sourcing the fabrics, yarns and trimmings. I source mainly throughout Europe, but have been including novelty fabrics from the USA in recent collections and have also had fabric printed for me. My favourite fabric manufacturer is Liberty with whom I have started to collaborate on exclusive reprints and recolours of some of my favourite designs. I am now also looking to design my own exclusive fabrics.....  

Customers have so often commented on my fabrics, yarns and trimmings and through eBay and my eBay shop, I can now share these finds with you......and many of these items are not available in the fabric shops, as they are only available to manufacturers!

If you are looking for a particular fabric, do enquire as I may be able to obtain for you or point you in the right direction!

My family and I share our home with our 5 beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.... Charlie (tri-colour), Peggy (ruby), Peggy's brother Giacomo (black and tan), Evie (black and tan) and Cosmo who was a surprise present from my daughters for Christmas 2009! It is Cosmo (as a puppy) who features in the photo on my feedback page. I hope to post more pics of the dogs soon ....there are rather too many to choose from. And I must apologise for their hairs...despite regular grooming and twice daily vacuuming, we chose a real bunch of moulters and I am sorry that the odd few hairs (they waft about as we have wooden floors here and they stick to everything....especially my clothes) are included in most parcels.

PS I am sad to advise that we lost our beloved Tilly* on 13th July 2008. She was a wonderful dog and we miss her very much.
