Our baby bird nursery incubator
|
Bedfordshire Wildlife Rescue has been running since early 2004. During the last few years, the charity has become well known, particularly for a knowledge of bird care and rears around 250 baby birds alone each season. In total, we treat between 800 and 1000 sick and injured birds and mammals each Year, all from our small treatment room.
During the Summer, we are enormously busy with baby birds and will rear anything from young Owls right down to the tiniest young Wren. Some of our baby birds will need feeding from 7am, every 20 minutes, until 9 or 10pm.
We are also extremely busy during this time rearing young mammals such as foxes, hedgehogs, rabbits and even weasels.
As you can imagine, it is an exhausting but hugely rewarding job, all done by just a few dedicated volunteers.
