My Name is Irina
Garmashova I am a professionally trained artist with 30 years
experience. I spent 6 years training at the St Petersburg Fine
Arts Academy where I learnt to work in all mediums. After leaving
the academy I began my career as a professional artist in St Petersburg
where my works of art were sold throughout the city including
the famous Gostiny Dvor department store and galleries in St Peterburg.
My paintings were also exhibited in St Petersburg, Holland and
Germany and more recently in England. My pictures are now found
all over the world in private collections.

The
majority of my day is spent in my studio where I am in many mediums
including Oils, Pastel, Pencil and watercolour. The majority of
my works are pets, landscapes and botanicals, which are subjects
close to my heart. Especially I like to paint or draw pets, which
I find a challenge to bring out their life and character into my
works. I cannot tell you which I like more cats or dogs or which
sort of dogs or cats because each is very special to me. When I
do pets for commissions I ask many questions of the owner and ask
for as many photographs as possible to bring this life and character
to my work. My other strong passion is plants and I have to share
this with my passion for cats and dog pictures. I Iike to grow and
paint my flowers, I will spend hours studying and painting the smallest
detail in my subjects.
