My name is Craig Jenkins, and i run an extreme music mail order called Thrashing Rage. My interest in extreme music goes back to the late 70s when aged 8 i started buying records with my pocket money. One of the very first i got was the golden years ep by motorhead, and from the first listen, i was a true metal head!!!Before long, i had a good collection of metal singles and was an avid reader of kerrrang! Even thn, i always prefered the heavier acts, like sabbath, preist and the aforementioned motorhead. The softer metal (kiss, van halen, etc) never really did it for me!! By '83 i was a big fan of venom, and when i first heard metallica late that year, i was hooked! so began an obsession with thrash and extreme metal.

The mid 80s saw fervent amounts of tape trading, running to 1000s of hours of tapes (all of which i still have!!!) but my main love was metallica. I had started a serious collection in 1984, and over the next 6 years i accumulated what was then most probably the largest collection in the world, running into 100s of items ( i even had 17 different test pressings, something that has yet to be surpassed by todays top collectors!!)

The mid 80s also saw the idea of fanzine editing flirted with, along with a good friend of mine (who now incidentally writes for terrorizer magazine!), but it never really came to much. As adulthood crept up on me, the looming prospect of mortgages and children forced me to sell my beloved collection (a decision helped by the fact that metallica had gone crap by then) but im not ashamed to say that as those beloved items were sold, i did shed tears!! Fate did however bring my friend and myself back together after moves and circumstances saw us drift out of contact, and the fanzine idea was rekindled, this time, it became reality, and the zine DEATH TO DEAD THINGS was spawned. It lasted 6 years and was a hell of a lot of fun, but again, family pressures curtailed this project, and the zine ended. For a short while, i did contribute to METAL HAMMER after they approached me to focus on the extreme metal reviews, but i soon realised how much advertising revenue could compromise honest journalism, so i unceremoniously resigned my new found outlet (i have my integrity intact!!!)

I had however also started a distro called THORONATH but it wasnt too successful, so i opted to sell second hand and collectors items instead, and after purchasing a sizeable collection from METAL FORCES editor Bernard Doe, thrashing rage mail order was born. At this time i also started a small label called IMMORTALICIDE PRODUCTIONS, which released 4 tapes (2 compilations, and demos by birminghams ASPHYXIATOR, and portugals DISGORGED) That was 5 years ago, and now with a more concentrated ebay focus, i have been able to combine my love of records, with a secondary income. Anyone who believes that i am just in this for the money, is oh so wrong. I was there as thrash formed, spread and developed. I was still there when it past its best and faded away, but i still support it and its bastard children now. It is in my blood, and i listen to thrash everyday, as well as the old mainstrem classics i first grew up with, and a little punk, hardcore, grind and gothic metal too. It is true what they say, you dont choose metal, it chooses you, and once its truly got you, it never lets go!!!

Thrashing Rage Mail Order, is primarily just an ebay concern now, and i have a stock of around 5,000 items, which i am gradually listing on ebay, piece by piece, although i am still constantly purchasing new items weekly and have branched a lot more into the punk and hardcore genres than ever before. I have started selling a few new items such as reissue punk cds, 7" and collectors vinyls, i purchase and store.

Last year, i started a label called THRASHING RAGE PRODUCTIONS, and i have so far released 2 products. The first was a 10" 1 sided single by bristol thrashers ONSLAUGHT that was limited to just 10 copies (yes ten) and the second is the awesome "necromantic maelstrom LP by american thrash gods LICH KING. I will be unleashing my third release in the next few weeks, which is an official re-issue of the MAYHEM tracks from the split cassette they did with VOMIT that was sold by euronymous himself in his helvete shop. It will be limited to only 666 copies, 100 of which will be on black and blue splattered vinyl, the remainder on black and red splattered vinyl.
