About Our Products
Findings, Beads and Their Uses
In the shop we are constantly amazed at the new uses customers find for beads. The first use that comes to mind is for making earrings and necklaces, but it doesn't end there. The uses include patchwork or embroidery, tapestry designs, dolls houses, even fly-fishing! The uses are never ending. We also supply beads and wire for the card making craft.
Rocailles are very useful little beads! Also known as seed beads, they are can be applied to embroidery, patchwork etc. Combined with bugles they make very attractive earrings. They also can be used for spacers and stopper beads on earrings.
We are now finding a need for tools to aid our customers in working with the fiddly findings! Our stock includes round nosed pliers, jewellery points and crimpers.
In the threading materials section you'll find beadalon, tiger tail, elastics. There's also leather and cotton thongs that are used for stringing large holed (2mm) beads for chokers. Chokers can have one special bead only if required, but my customers usually find three or five beads for a choker is satisfactory. Don't forget, it will look best made with an odd number; a large centre bead with smaller ones either side.
Clasps are listed for thonging and wires/elastics, feel free to email us if you need any help with the selection of clasps. We have also found that our customers enjoy working with our extensive range of semi-precious gemstone cabochons.
The majority of our metal findings and other beads comply with the directives Euro Nickel Directives EN1810, EN1811, EN12472.
