GREG'S GREATS - Records Galore !!!!
Hi there ebayers.... For those who don't know me I'm Greg director/owner of Greg's Greats Records based in Foxton Cambridge.I deal in old records - NO CD's!! and have over 135,000 records in stock of which 95,000 + are 78's and the rest is vinyl - mainly 7" 45's (also about 5,000 12" and the same number of LP's). Famous customers include John Peel (RIP) The BBC in general (egs Eastenders, Monarch of the Glen, Local BBC Radio) Chas McDevitt, Larry Page, Film production teams (egs Bright Young Things, Below, Nowhere Boy etc) and more who I've forgotten. ROB DA BANK occasionally plays a "Gregs Great 78" on his show on RADIO 1, AND ON MONDAY 28th April 2008 we had a 2 hour show on 78's on RADIO 1 hosted jointly by myself and Rob da Bank. There are so many records here that twice a year a record Fair is held in Foxton to display all the records at bargain prices for collectors to get their hands on. At the fairs all the 78 records I haven't priced up are offered at a pound a piece and all 7" singles are offered at one pound fifty. All the priced records are reduced by 25% for the fair and a fun time is usually had by all. The fair is free to visitors who are also fed (BBQ in summer - Mince Pies and Sausage Rolls in Winter) and watered free of charge - The only caviat being you must let me know that you are coming so we can get the catering right!! The Fair's are always on the Second Sunday in August and the Second Sunday in December. Ask me to send you an invite... the next one is SUNDAY AUGUST 8th 2010. Hope to see you here!!!

MY ebaY “MODUS” for records being auctioned:-
To encourage early bidding I start nearly all “Expensive” Auction items with a reasonably low starting price and put them on for an initial period of 7 or 10 days.
If there are no bids on the item with 4 days to go, I may gradually INCREASE the starting bid price to a price I would be happy with in auction. If it still receives no bids – I will put into my ebaY shop at something nearer "book" price.
IN SHORT IT WILL PAY TO BID EARLY!!
I offer "free" UK postage in accordance with eBay rules - that is to say all my business costs are included in my prices - so in the Uk you won't have to pay anything extra to get your items other than the price shown...
You can pay a little extra and get 1st class post - but that's up to you.
For overseas buyers -it means that you will get a much lower postage rate than before 19th October 2009

10" 78 RPM RECORDS NEED CAREFULLY PACKING, AND I CLAIM TO HAVE THE BEST PACKAGING IN THE WORLD FOR DISPATCHING THEM!!
THE GREG'S GREAT'S SYSTEM CONSISTS OF A SPECIALLY DESIGNED INNER BOX MADE OUT OF 1" THICK POLYSTYRENE, WHICH THEN GOES INSIDE A DOUBLE CORREGATED STIFF OUTER CARDBOARD CARTON. THE BOXES CAN TAKE UP TO 21 RECORDS,
USUALLY FOR MAILING OVERSEAS, I RECOMMEND NO MORE THAN 7 IN A BOX, OTHERWISE IT GOES OVER THE AIRMAIL SMALL PACKET MAXIMUM WEIGHT OF 2Kgs WHICH CAUSES A LARGE HIKE IN POSTAL RATES.
I SEND OUT ON AVERAGE ABOUT 30 PARCELS A WEEK AND DISPATCH IS NORMALLY DONE ONCE A WEEK - SO IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR RECORD WITHIN A WEEK IN THE UK, PLEASE DON'T BE TOO SURPRISED - YOU MAY HAVE JUST PAID FOR IT THE DAY AFTER I'VE DONE THE PARCEL RUN!! - ON THE OTHER HAND YOU MAY HAVE HIT IT LUCKY, AND GET THE PARCEL WITHIN A DAY OR TWO!!
IF YOU REALLY HAVE AN URGENT REQUIREMENT FOR THE RECORD - BIRTHDAY PRESENT, WEDDING, FUNERAL etc PLEASE TELL ME - BECAUSE I CAN'T READ MINDS!!! I WILL DO MY BEST TO GET IT OUT FOR YOU URGENTLY.
