Kent has been making a comprehensive range of carefully designed hair, shaving, body brushes and combs using both natural bristle and nylon filaments for over 225 years with the emphasis on quality, performance and beauty. Our heritage certainly does not make us complacent. Indeed we are currently experiencing our biggest growth period in our history, and understand that to challenge the world market place we have to be even more resourceful, commercially aware, and determined to meet the demanding requirements of the retailers, and more importantly our customers, so we can continue to provide the excellence that has awarded us our accolade as the world finest brush maker.
Retail background/STRONG>
Part of our success with major retailers has been built on our reputation for efficiency and quality. We have been supplying stores such as John Lewis, Selfridges, Harrods, Fortnum and Mason along with leading chemists in the UK for over 100 years, and distribute to over 50 countries world wide, including USA, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, Europe, Scandinavia and The Middle East.
Competitors/STRONG>
Hair brush ranges from competitors come and go, along with the celebrity names behind them, but Kent consistently creates ranges that work on all hair types, and our belief that we are responsible for looking after hair is the foundation of our success; no gimmicks and marketing tricks just beautiful brushes to groom beautiful hair.
Bristle/STRONG>
Attention to detail is of paramount importance to us. The highest quality boar bristle is selected by our experienced buyers for its strength and resilience, and bought from bristle merchants across China and India where this natural material is found. Carefully selected bundles are used to provide the correct bristle strength for all hair types from baby fine to ethnic coarse.
Materials/STRONG>
Timbers are chosen from sustainable forests throughout the world, selected for their beauty, grain, colour and suitability to be shaped, drilled and polished. Rubber cushions are selected for softness and strength, comfortable for delicate scalps but strong enough to be durable and withstand years of use. Plastic quills have carefully rounded ends to tease their way through tangled hair without pulling or tugging.
Combs/FONT>
We choose to hand saw our combs and not use moulds, thus eliminating a oulding ridgethat actually cuts hair causing split ends. Instead, our comprehensive range of over 20 combs glide effortlessly through hair, causing no damage to scalp or hair.
Penetration
Bristle is hand trimmed in the factory, this means every bristle is a slightly different length, creating an uneven surface to the brush which enables it to penetrate hair perfectly reaching deep down to the scalp. This brushing movement arouses the natural oils produced in the scalp which look after hair keeping it shiny and healthy.

We have a retail shop within our Hertfordshire based factory where anyone can visit, and see our full range of brushes. Handmade/STRONG>
For the very best from Kent we use the same skills and craftsmanship developed over 225 years to make a full range of hand made hair brushes for both men and women. Every stage from bristle selection, to hand drawing the bristles through wooden brush backs, timber drying, lacquering, polishing is all carefully and lovingly carried out in our factory in Hertfordshire, England. These unique skills create brushes of precision and beauty to be treasured for future generations. Red presentation boxes add to their gift appeal, and the selection of brushes provides for thick, medium, fine or thinning hair. Manufacturing/STRONG>
Our innovative designs and continual recognition of hair dressing trends provides the consumer with a constant stream of new and exciting products, alongside our traditional designs. We have our own in-house design team who source the world for new ideas and answer the demands of an ever changing and highly demanding hairdressersworld. As manufacturers we have the capabilities to create any hair brush. Over 50% of our hair brushes are made in England, but we also have factories in the Far East making ranges to our design and specification who are answerable to our stringent quality control. Our designs draw on over 225 years of hair brush manufacturing experience and expertise, and our in-house team can take a conceptual idea right through to a finished brush.
Salons
Whether Royalty or rock chick, Kent will look after hair, from baby to octogenarian, Kent can look after your hair.
