(There are links to some FourKnees websites at www.9linton.com\.)

Married (twice), three children. Lives in Hastings, East Sussex.

I am neither a dealer nor a collector....
I simply list items with eBay on behalf of dealers who live nearby and either haven't a PC or don't have the time or the inclination to do it themselves. Auctioning items with eBay is easy and straightforward, but if you have a lot to sell it can be time-consuming (even with a broadband connection); many dealers would rather spend their time buying than slaving over a hot keyboard.

So who's responsible for the listings?
I have no expert knowledge in any of the fields which cover the items I offer on eBay (or indeed in any other fields), so I am dependent for the accuracy of the descriptions on those who ask me to submit the listings. Also, when an item is sold it is the dealer who packs and despatches it to the successful bidder. However, the ultimate responsibility to buyers is mine, and I therefore work only with experienced and long established dealers whom I know and trust.
Why FourKnees?
Because my kneecaps are my own but the neighbouring bits are made of titanium and plastic. They work quite well.
What do you sell?
Anything that isn't illegal, immoral or unsaleable. Among the items I have sold on eBay since October 2001 are: A Mah Jong set, a World War 2 poster, a pair of military binoculars, a ceramic rolling pin, a set of five unplayed David Bowie disks, three stained glass panels, a meerschaum pipe, a lot of maps, first day covers and golf balls, a clockwork mouse, a froe, a Hardy gaff, a Ramsden eighteenth century telescope and a first edition of Forever Amber.
What are you selling at the moment?
Nothing for the moment (see note above)
To protect bidder privacy, when the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names. For auction items, a bold price means at least one bid has been received.

Note: Anonymous names may appear more than once and may represent different bidders.

How do you deal with emails?
My ADSL connection is on for about ten hours a day, seven days a week, except when I am away (rarely), or BT has a technical breakdown (all too frequently). So usually I can give fairly prompt replies to messages from buyers. My experience so far has been that on average every item sold generates about a dozen messages (to and from, including eBay's) before the transaction is complete.
What do your buyers say?
There was one buyer who dithered for four weeks, then sent a check for the wrong amount, then said he wanted to cancel the deal. However, I forgave him when he wrote '...sorry for the incontinence'. Most buyers are friendly and efficient; here are the last half-dozen comments they made:
