At Emmaus Mossley we offer a home and work to previously homeless and unemployed people. The project aims to be self-sufficient by collecting and selling donated goods such as furniture, bric-a-brac, electrical appliances, clothing, books, toys, etc. Our workshop also offers training in the manufacture (from re-cycled wood) and renovation of furniture. These goods are either sold in our shop to generate income to sustain the project or are given to families in need for a nominal cost. These families are usually referred to us by agencies such as Social Services, the Probation Service or various housing projects. |
