If you are considering purchasing, I can accept payments in any sensible way. This includes PayPal, UK cheques, UK postal orders, cash-on-collection, bank transfers or bank deposits. I do not accept cash through the post. Overseas buyers should use PayPal but the payment can be in pounds, euros or dollars. As I occasionally spend euros or dollars, it will save both myself and overseas buyers the transaction charges if the total is requested in euros or dollars (that's US, NZ, Canada or Australian dolars) before paying. Buyers from outside the European Union should enquire about import rules as there is always a possibility, particularly for higher value purchases, that customs authorities will add purchase taxes and/or import duty.

Bank transfers and bank deposits in a Nationwide branch arrive instantly but I do need to know when the payment has been made. These methods of payment do not incur any costs or charges to either the buyer or seller. Account details will happily be supplied on request.

Recently I've had a couple of buyers calling round hoping to purchase at my doorstep. Collections are fine but I do not keep much stock at home. Normally I need to swap a few messages to arrange a suitable time and it might be the next day before I have brought the item home. Of course, there is no packing or shipping charge for collections.

All goods are posted out within 3 working days of cleared payment being received. I would love to offer next-day dispatch but as my business often involves a day or two away from home tracking down some surplus stock, next-day dispatch is not always possible. I know that if I bought from regular wholesalers I could get to the post office every day but then my prices would be higher. In the last couple of months, I have managed to post almost all orders received before 3pm the same day.

The default posting option on most of my listings is second class mail. As you can see from my feedback, many buyers are pleasantly surprised by the fast delivery time. I do not find that using first class mail makes much difference to this. If a buyer particularly wishes first class mail to be used, I will gladly oblige but swapping messages and arranging an extra few pence payment can delay despatch so it is usually quicker just to go ahead and order the item via second class mail. For larger parcels, I am currently testing the services provided by Collect+ and MyHermes. These services offer an option for buyers to pick up the parcel from a local convenience store so please send a message if this would be preferable to a doorstep delivery.

I often try to put some collectible stamps onto parcels. This takes a few minutes extra but it does mean that buyers get something more for the shipping costs than would otherwise be the case. Please pass any such stamps onto someone who collects rather than throwing them away. Please send a message if you would particularly like some collectable stamps as I do not always have time both to do this and catch the post.

I will try to satisfy every customer. Occasionally things go wrong, sometimes it's my fault, sometimes someone else is to blame. Whatever the problem, I will do what I can to put things right. I ask all buyers to make contact as soon as possible if there is a problem. Refunds are always available and sometimes I can offer the choice of a replacement too.

Postage discounts are available for multiple purchases. This discount does not always appear automatically at the checkout but buyers can apply an adjustment or wait for a combined invoice. There is no problem if a buyer wants to wait for the outcome of a second auction before paying for the first. If there's any other reason for delaying payment, just let me know the situation.

I will reuse packaging when I can. Customers should not be surprised or upset if looking on the back of packaging reveals that the cardboard has been used previously to move some crisps to Asda or that your address was printed on the reverse side of some junk mail. This keeps costs down and reduces waste.

If an eBay page is unavailable, try changing part of the address in your browser from .co.uk to .com (or vice versa).

Never ever login to PayPal, eBay, online banking, or any other important account using a page that appears after clicking on an email. If you do you could well be sending your password to fraudsters.
