My name is Margaret Sierakowski and I live in the North East of Scotland, where I breed Irish Red and White Setters. These are a beautiful and relatively rare breed of setter, the ancestor of the red Irish Setter, and were nearly extinct thirty years ago, the breed having been reduced to the last dozen or so registered dogs left in Ireland. But now happily restored and the numbers are growing again. My dogs are bred mainly from working lines from Ireland, and I have exported setters to around ten other countries
I am not not a professional bookseller, but have a large private collection of books about dogs, specialising in books about setters and spaniels, and gundogs generally, and antiquarian dog books. When the shelves get too overcrowded, I have a clear out from time to time, and sell dog books on E bay. I'm also willing to buy any interesting or unusual books, prints, engravings or other items relating to setters and spaniels.
I'm also writing a book about the history of Irish Red and White Setters. My book collecting originally started from my interest in the history of setters
