Cakestandz Important Advice and Intellectual Property Rights

Cakestandz is a member of eBay’s VeRO (Verified Rights Owners) Programme and monitors eBay and the Internet for violations of our trade marks, patents, and copyright in order to protect our customers, dealers, and distributors. Cakestandz vigorously enforces its intellectual property rights whether you are listing one item or twenty.

We do not authorise the use of our copyright within any listing on eBay. This includes unathorised use of our logos, photography or images published on any Cakestandz or affliated website or in our advertising and marketing materials. Any such copyright can not be used without express permission.  This also includes use of our product specific size guides and the information we provide to the general public on our websites, including our intellectual property in terms of descriptions, research, or other copyright material.

Cakestandz does not authorise any resellers or distributors to sell Cakestandz Display products on eBay.  Furthermore buyers should beware of cheap imitation "multi use" Cake stands and display units circulating in some countries – many of them are illegal because they infringe our Patent rights. Think carefully before buying. If it doesn’t say Cakestandz it is not authorised and genuine and is a copy. 

Very Important advice

We only work with top professional quality materials, be aware there are thin 3mm stands that are not cost effective and often do not last even the assembly. We have had brides in tears needing last minute replacements for cheap thin flimsy stands they have purchased from other copy sellers on ebay. You can tell thin stands as they are very cluttered, with very large interlocking pillars.  We only make 5mm+ thick, solid, uncluttered cakestands and if you have any doubt you must always ask a seller the thickness and never buy 3mm it is far to thin for food use. Always opt for our uncluttered designs if you want the biggest space for your cakes or display goods.

We understand that individuals may wish to sell their used Cakestandz stand on eBay, but please be aware that these products can not be offered as “New” and you should provide information within the listing regarding the condition of the item.  Any Cakestandz display stand sold through eBay will not be covered by our warranty.

eBay policies regarding intellectual property abuse are clearly outlined and available to both sellers and buyers on eBay.  Although eBay does not generally pre-screen auctions infringing listings are dealt with strictly and quickly by the eBay VeRO program.  The onus is on sellers to ensure that their listings don’t violate another party’s intellectual property. The most common offences are Keyword Spamming and Brand Name Misuse.  “Keyword Spamming” is the use of our trade marks to imply authorization by or affiliation with Cakestandz and its products to sell a product which is not an authentic Cakestandz Cake stand.
