Searching for that elusive blues or primitive music sound? You've come to the right place!
I love the blues, and old-time guitars and cigar box guitars are what I love too. I'm based in the West Midlands in the UK and run a one-man operation. No jumping on the bandwagon here, I've been at this quite a while, making innovative instruments - I like to think I'm leading while others follow! I also have extensive experience importing, repairing and restoring old USA-made guitars such as Harmony, Stella, Oahu and Kay.
For cigar box guitars, this is THE place, from traditional plantation-style 3 string fretless, to the latest fully featured 6 string Evo models with top line Kluson hardware and pickups. I pride myself in putting out the most innovative designs, and I'm constantly refining this exciting range of instruments, with oil can guitars, resonator cigar box guitars, strumsticks, ukes...there's always something new coming out of my workshop.
I organised and hosted the highly successful 1st UK CIGAR BOX GUITAR FESTIVAL in 2009..so you can be sure I'm right at the forefront of what's happening in the cigar box guitar and primitive music world.

Slide guitar is one of my specialities. Resonator guitars, squareneck acoustics, hawaiian, lap-steel...if it's meant to be played with a slide...I'm your man!
Check out my GENUNE BOTTLENECKS. You can't play bottleneck guitar with any old slide, you need a real bottleneck. I hand-make bottlenecks from wine bottles, carefully cutting, grinding and polishing them to make the ultimate glass slides, and all are signed with the unique ChickenboneJohnengraved logo. I offer several styles: single-cut, double-cut, ErgoCutand the infamous Bar-room Special.
