Just A Little About Me...

Welcome to my Me Page and thank you for stopping by! My name is Cherie and I first joined eBay in 2003, as a buyer. Most of the auctions I was drawn to, and the items I was interested in purchasing, were my favorite color since childhood - PINK - hence, the user name, cherielovespink ! With encouragement from my family, friends and customers, I soon began selling my hand-painted items on eBay. I had established myself (and my feedback) with my first eBay name, so I decided to keep it! Ebay has been an interesting journey so far and I look forward to all I have yet to experience! I've met so many wonderful buyers and sellers from across the U.S., in other countries, and all walks of life!

The above photo shows my first "masterpiece", created at 5 years old, when I was in kindergarten! I'm a Decorative Artist and after many, many years of painting, I started my own officially licensed business, named Cher-ished Treasures, in 1995. I am a member of the Society of Decorative Painters. I also belong to the Central Appalachian Arts and Crafts Cooperative, and offer my artwork for sale at local fine arts and crafts galleries and shops. I frequently participate in Arts & Crafts shows and enjoy everything about it -- EXCEPT for having to pack for a trip and unload it all, once I arrive! Although I do have formal training, I know my ability is a God-given gift and I am thankful to be blessed by Him with the talent! I have a wonderful, loving family and I thank God every day for the beautiful blessings they are in my life! They have been, and continue to be, wonderfully supportive of my work -- they are my cheering section, my support group & my biggest fans!
Recently after receiving one of my hand-painted creations, a private client emailed and said..."You should feel good that you can make people smile with your work!!!" If I can bring a smile to someone's face, or brighten their world with my creations, then I know I have found true success as an artist!
Those who follow my eBay auctions on a regular basis, probably associate my name mostly with my hand-painted baby shoes, because they have been one of my most popular items, although I do offer many other things! I have created a unique and copyrighted design for hand-painting vintage baby shoes. I've sold my baby shoes on eBay, in local shops, at shows and to private customers. My shoes have been purchased for babies, dolls, bears and decorative display. They have been worn in weddings, pageants and special portraits and have been shipped all over the world!
I've also worked with private clients to custom design hand-painted baby shoes, to meet their specific needs and requests...

These shoes were created to coordinate with the GORGEOUS dresses shown in the photos below. The dresses were custom designed and made by Shirlene of Nanas*Trunk*Boutique. Shirlene's beautiful grand-daughters are the models! They are so adorable!

I have met so many wonderful people thru eBay and have received such kind words and feedback on my baby shoes and other items! I've also made many good friends and have several repeat customers. It's a good indication of a Seller's credibility and reputation, if Buyers make repeat purchases! Thanks so much to all of you, for your kind words, encouragement and continued support - you know who you are!
The photos below are a few more of my hand-painted baby shoes... this page shows only a SMALL sample of the many designs I create! And you never know what I'll come up with next!!

I paint in a realist style, working mostly in acrylics. My designs and tastes are eclectic, so you never know what you might find in my auctions! Please check by often, or add me to your favorites list.
I absolutely love the Shabby, but Chic, style of decorating and have been hooked since my first childhood bedroom, decorated with beautiful white French Provincial furniture and cabbage roses! New things simply don't have the character and charm of treasures from the past. I love searching flea markets, estate sales, auctions, and antique shops for time-worn "diamonds-in-the-rough" and transforming them into heirloom quality works of art.
My advice to new collectors would be to buy what you like, what speaks to you and that which will bring joy into your home. Even if you can afford only a few quality pieces, they will become more treasured with time and most likely will increase in value. Bargain hunting is not always best, in the world of decorative art. When considering an artist's work, please keep in mind many hours go into designing and intricately hand-painting a piece -- not to mention an initial investment by the artist, to purchase the item being offered. Items that have been properly prepared, professionally hand-painted and finished with quality products, will endure the test of time.
I welcome custom orders -- and although roses are one of my favorite subjects, I paint "guy things" as well! The photo below is a painting created for a private client...

For several years, I specialized in wildlife painting, selling my hand-painted creations from local tourism shops. I continue to do custom work in wildlife paintings.

If you would like more information on my hand-painted custom designs, or have a special auction request, please use Ebay's "Contact Seller" option to email me.
COPYRIGHT DECLARATION:
I dislike having to mention this part, but sadly, eBay's VeRO advises that a public copyright statement/verification, is a legal necessity. I don't wish to sound harsh, but artists have to protect their livelihoods! While immitation is often said to be the finest form of flattery, to an artist that works long and hard locating a vintage piece, cleaning, preparing, designing and painting it (not to mention all the work involved in photographing, writing a description, listing, etc.), to see a "replica" of it appear the next week, on another eBay auction, can be understandably overwhelming -- even to the most tolerant of personalities! The very nature of hand-painted items are best as original designs and vary with each individual artist.
EBay is full of talented, artists, all with their own unique style and abilities. ALL original hand-painted items, whether mine or that of another artist, are protected by copyright laws, and cannot be reproduced, unless express written consent is given, directly by the artist. The copyright is retained by the artist and is not transferred with purchase. Please respect ALL artists' copyrights, regardless of the medium, we work hard to create an individual style and unique product!
All designs for my hand-painted baby shoes and other items I offer, are original and copyright protected. I do not grant permission to copy my design, layout, original artwork, painting, description, photos, placement, or text. I am an active member of VeRO and any copyright infringement attempts will be reported. This also protects the Buyer, as most collectors prefer to purchase unique, One-Of-A-Kind designs and original works of art, as opposed to items that are mass-produced. I do not sell baby shoes under any other eBay name. I'm not affiliated with any other seller offering hand-painted baby shoes, nor have I authorized duplication of my designs. Please do not be fooled by imitations!
*** A special thank you to my loyal customers - and some kind souls from eBay who I do not even know! - for emailing auction links and alerting me to those who have attempted to duplicate my copyrighted designs! ***
