Hello & Welcome to Characters 4 Kids, your one stop friendly family run shop for Children's TV, Film & Cartoon Character Merchandise.

My name is Lisa Newsom, I live in Guernsey, Channel Islands with my Husband Jess & my 2 children Josh (age 8) & Ella (age 3).

I started up Characters 4 Kids in November 2006. Why? Well, I was working for a local accountancy firm in 2003 whilst studying for ACCA when I decided that I wanted to be at home with my son rather than spend 45+ hours a week working & studying. So I became a childminder which I thoroughly enjoyed, then in 2006 whilst I was doing my christmas shopping for my children & those I looked after I decided to start my own site selling character products at reasonable prices that people could afford.

I juggled Childminding from 7.30am - 6pm Mon-Fri, a part time job as a Carer at our local Cheshire Home (to finiancially support the set up of the business) doing 2-3 12 hour nigh shifts a week, my family, the house, & Characters for Kids for 8 months then I took the plunge and stopped childminding / caring to run this business full time.

Jess, my Husband, was a local Stonemason for 22 years & due to back problems meant that he really needed a career change. He started full time on the business with me in January 2008. So together with his Mother, they pick & pack all the orders as well as do regular stock takes, check in the stock deliveries & plays 'taxi service' to our children to & from school / playschool.

Martine, Jess' Sister started working for us in January 2009 & she helps me with all the listings, administration, customer service, placing suppliers orders, accounts & everything else that needs doing. Becky, my sister, helps us out when she isn't working as a Nanny (which is her full time job)

So as you can see we are a family run business & we take pride in the knowledge that we appreciate our customers as without them we wouldn't be here doing what we love! It pays the mortgage & the bills so that's enough for us, just being at home with our children whilst they are young is what really matters to us.

We sell a vast range of Children's Character Merchandise from Bedding, Lighting, Bedroom Accessories, Lunch Bags, Bottles & School Bags to Toys, Partyware, Party Bag Fillers, Tableware, Birthday Cards & more. New items come into stock daily to ensure that stock is replenished as quickly as possible & to keep up with the latest products & characters available.

Most of what we sell is listed on our own website but we are trying our best to get at least 50% of our product line listed onto our eBay shop.
