Back to previous page  Welcome to Roman Britain's North West Frontier Hadrian's Wall We live at the north west corner of the Roman Empire, in the county of Cumbria (formerly Cumberland) on the Solway Plain just north of the Lake District. There are many Roman remains in the area which is well worth a visit.  In fact John has just finished a CD on Hadrian's Wall which shows many of the forts and buildings as they once were. This is on sale in our shop Souvenir Antiques in Long Lane, off Castle St., Carlisle. Souvenir Antiques, Carlisle Living close to the western end of Hadrian's Wall, and with a shop in Carlisle -  Cumbria's only city and formerly Lugovallium, it is only natural that we have specialised in roman coins. We normally have about 100 on display in our shop, with prices ranging from £1 to around £100, though we can obtain better, rarer (and therefore dearer!) ones for customers who ask for them.  You may also be interested in our selection of antique maps of Cumberland.
