Over 20 years ago K-TEC began making home grain mills. Success with the grain mill led to the development of a home bread mixer. A blender was incorporated into the design of the bread mixer and the combination proved to be a huge hit. Introduced in 1995, the Champ HP3was introduced as the first blender on the market with a microprocessor chip. Pre-programmed blending cycles direct a powerful 3-peak horsepower motor to change speeds and times, automatically assuring perfect blending consistency. This technology led K-TEC into the commercial blender industry, where the technology of up to 5 HP motors and blender/dispenser systems have been introduced. Today, the Blendtecfamily of commercial blenders can be seen at leading smoothie and coffee shops throughout the world.
