"Matching Bags" 2008 Karen Rice Watercolour (26" x 18")

I am a London born artist and studied for my BA Hons in South West London. Since graduating I worked in advertising for a few years. After settling down and having a family I really began to develop my art.

I especially love the medium of Watercolour and acrylics. I sell most of my work in the UK and some pieces worldwide. I love to teach watercolour classes and teach every day and really enjoy the connection with other budding artists.

I would like to continue to develop my own style painting people and flowers especially and also continue teaching watercolor classes because of the great interaction with my students.

How long have you been creating?

I have been painting since I was a child - I sold my first painting 16 years ago.

What is your media of choice?

Watercolour and mixed media.

What are your motivations for creating?

I love painting large paintings at the moment especially of people doing something like playing an instrument or walking in the rain. I am a very enthusiastic creative person - not just in painting but life in general. I paint every day and am always open to new ideas. I want to be able to create a new style something that marks me out from other watercolour artists.
