FAQs
(Frequently Asked Question)
|
| Q. Can this ring be resized? |
A. Normally most our
rings can be easily re-sized up or down 3-4 sizes by any of your local jeweller
or any one who does jewellery repairing. For e.g. M size ring can be stretched
upto Q and lowered down to J. However, many styles of ring (such as eternity
bands) are not sizeable or difficult (invisible set) to size. |
|
Q. Do you offer ring sizing? |
|
A. Normally we recommend ring sizing
be done by a local jeweller. This way if any adjustments are needed they can do
it right away without you having to ship the item back to us. Only if your jeweller
is unable to do it for you in an extreme case we will re-size it and send it back
to you however then the item becomes non-returnable because in order to take an
item back the item has to be in its original condition. |
|
Q. My jeweller says this ring cannot
be resized what should I do? |
|
A. If you can't get it re-sized
with your jeweller then do let us know and we will do it for you. |
|
Q. I liked your baguette diamonds
full eternity ring and have never seen such before but unfortunately it is not
my size. Can you help me to get my dream ring? |
|
A. Yes we can make your dream come
true. Being a manufacturer we can make any of these rings as per your size. Please
ask for a quote |
|
Q. How Do I measure my ring size? |
|
A. We would advice you to go to
your local jeweller to get the accurate size. |

Q. What is wholesale price,
RRP and appraisal value? How do you determine that? |
|
A. It is important to know
the prices at different stages associated with a piece of jewellery. |
A. Manufacturing Cost: This
is our cost to make the item. B. Wholesale Price: This is the price
that we would sell to a jewellery store or a wholesaler (typically 5-30% over
manufacturing cost) C. Retail Price: This is the price that a jewellery
store will sell the item to you (typically 100 - 300% over wholesale price)
D. Appraisal Value: This is done for insurance purposes can be done only
by registered valuers and not by all jewellers. However the valuation may vary
depending upon their opinion. |
|
Q. What price of above am
I paying? |
|
A. When you are buying from
'apexents' you are paying the wholesale price ultimately resulting in huge savings.
Our focus at 'apexents' is solely to provide affordable diamonds to our winners,
and at bargain prices - prices they wouldn't dream of getting at retail stores.
It is a popular conception that a diamond MUST be shiny or exorbitant to be called
a diamond - but then they may be so outside the reach of the common man! Our conception
here is simple - we bring diamonds within reach of people - without burning a
hole in their pockets |
|
Q.
How are the diamonds or jewellery you selling differ in quality and price from
a local jewellery store? |
|
A. On an average you can
be assured that the jewellery we are selling is priced at least 50-70% less then
what you will pay at a jewellery store. jewellery stores have high overheads and
hence high markups. Pieces that typically sell for £1000 at a jewellery
store can be purchased from us for £250 to £500. On no reserve auctions
many times you can get a piece of jewellery below our manufacturing cost. Being
a manufacturer does not mean that we do not have any product cost. DeBeers holds
the monopoly over diamonds and 60-70% of diamonds in the market are sold through
DeBeers subsidiary Diamond Trading Corporation. The advantage we have is that
we are selling directly to you and we do not have high overheads. |
|
In summary you can get deals from
us, but your expectations have to be reasonable. Some customers want to spend
£500 for a 1.00 carat diamond and expect it to be eye clean and clear. This
is simply not possible; we cannot give you a £5000 diamond for £500.
Our advice to you before buying any item from us is to do some homework by visiting
your local jewellery stores, and this way you know what to expect and will not
be disappointed. |
| Q.
What
is a conflict diamond? |
A.
Conflict diamonds are diamonds that originate from areas controlled by forces
or factions opposed to legitimate and internationally recognized governments.
These diamonds are used to fund military action in opposition to those governments.
The diamonds are sold on the black market and are used to propagate a bloody war
which victimizes many children. The last thing anyone wants on their mind when
making a diamond purchase is to know that their diamond possibly helped aid such
a violent and brutal act of aggression. "Conflict
diamonds" - sometimes referred to as "blood diamonds" - have received
a great deal of publicity recently. The spotlight will fall even more greatly
on this issue when Warner Bros release their Hollywood blockbuster "The Blood
Diamond" in December 2006, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The
lure of diamonds as an ideal repository of illicit wealth for the unscrupulous
has lead to wars that have raged in many diamond-producing countries of the world,
resulting in massive levels of human suffering. While
diamond mines themselves are fought over, it is the gems which often become the
cause of - and the fuel for - wars because they are such high-value commodities
which were, until now, easily smuggled and traded into the legitimate diamond
market. back

|
Q. Are your diamonds genuine or
are they lab created? |
|
A. All our diamonds are 100% mined,
genuine and natural. We do not engage ourselves in artificial, clarity enhanced
or chemically treated diamonds in any way. |
|
Q. I am sceptical about buying jewellery
on eBay. What guarantee do you provide on your jewellery? |
|
A. All our products are fully hallmarked
at Birmingham Assay office so that takes off your worry on the gold purity. Be
assured the gold or platinum used in our items of jewellery is solid and not bonded
or plated. The diamonds are appraised by our in-house GAGTL ( Gemological Association
of Gem Testing Laboratory) graduates using standard tools such as master colour
stones and high power microscope which enables them to provide the most exact
grading of the diamonds. These diamonds are then set by highly skilled craftsmen
resulting in an absolute gorgeous piece of jewellery. |
|
A. You can be assured of dealing
with a trustworthy reputed manufacturer & wholesaler selling several items
everyday since a long time now and not any reseller intending to make quick bucks
on ebay who wouldn't hesitate to fraud. We would let our feedbacks speak for ourselves
which are testimony to our quality products matched with excellent service. We
had buyers getting their items valued as high as £ 2000 more than what they
paid. We are committed to make your entire buying experience pleasant and memorable. |
|
Q. What is EGL? Please let me know
more. |

is an international independent leader in diamond grading and training for all
diamond business solutions. E.G.L.
has more than 20 years experience in grading diamonds and places an exceptionally
high premium on judgment, competence and experience. E.G.L.'s global reputation
and acceptance of its certificates means you can buy diamonds with greater confidence.
The diamond certificate records all the relevant information pertaining to the
diamond, including carat weight, colour and clarity grade. |

Q. I won an auction. What should
I do and where do I send the payment? |
|
A. If you have won an auction you
should first do the checkout and then send the payment. You should also wait to
do the checkout if you are waiting for other auctions to close. We will send you
an email with all the relevant payment details like our address( if paying by
cheque), bank details (if paying by bank transfer). |
|
Q. I will be paying through a personal
cheque. How long will it take to receive my lovely ring? |
|
A. Please allow 3-4 working days
for the cheque to get cleared. We will ship immediately on clearance of cheque. |
Q. I sent payment by PayPal.com
but I am not sure if payment has gone through or not. |
A. The easiest way to find out
if a payment has been sent by PayPal.com is to log into your PayPal.com account
and click on the History tab. The History section will show you all the payments
you have successfully sent. |
|
Q. What is address confirmation
at Paypal? Why is it necessary? |
A. Paypal confirms
the delivery address with your credit card address in order to make sure that
you are the genuine owner of the credit card on their system. You must have registered
and verified yourself with paypal but getting your address confirmed is necessary.
As only when you have a confirmed address any payment sent becomes eligible for
seller protection policy. In case, the payment gets reversed due to lack of funds
or used by a fraud (it does happen!!), the seller is then covered by paypal. |
|
Q. How do I get myself confirmed? |
| A. You need to contact paypal
to provide you with a four digit no (an expanded user no.) in your credit card
statement. You have to then call up your credit card provider to get the no. if
you don't want to wait till your next statement arrives. Finally, you log on to
paypal and use that no. to get yourself verified. Although, this may sound a bit
complex bit is actually not that difficult to follow. |
|
Q. I won an auction but I do not
wish to complete the transaction. |
A. Bidding on eBay is a binding
contract. If you do not intend to honor your bid please do not bid. We report
non paying bidders to eBay and they can then face suspension on eBay. |
| | |

| | |
Q. Does
the shipping fee include insurance and can I combine multiple auctions? |
|
A. Shipping
is $25.00 for all deliveries worldwide by Royal mail Internationally signed-for
which is fully insured . You can combine the other items if you want and save
on postage. |
|
Q. If I send the payment
today, how fast can you ship? |
|
A. All items are normally
in stock and ship out next day but incase they are out for hallmarking and there
is a delay there, we attempt to ship latest within 3-4 working days of clearance
of payments. Our shipping cutoff time is 1.00 pm. So if we receive your payment
before that we can ship your order out the same day if required. Orders paid by
personal check will be shipped once the check clears which can take up to 4 to
5 business days. |
Q. I want you to deliver
the item to different address as want to give my partner a surprise. Can you do
that? |
A. Yes, that's not a problem
at all. |
|
Q. I am an international
customer. Can you do expedited delivery? |
|
A. Although we normally do
the international shipments through Royal mail which takes 12-15 working days,
we can expedite the delivery by shipping through Fedex courier service. Please
confirm the cost and we will arrange it for you. |

 | |
| | |
Q. Are the items you are
selling brand new? |
|
A. We only sell brand new
items. We do not sell used jewellery. |
|
Q. Are you selling real jewellery? |
|
A. All our jewellery are
real and genuine. We do not sell fake or lab created gemstones. Our diamonds are
not treated or enhanced in any way. |
Q. Why are your prices so
low in comparison to retail stores? |
A. We
have no expensive storefront, very low overheads, no advertising expenses, sell
exactly what you see, no less no more. These factors permit YOU TO BUY at very
low prices, as our regular customers already know. A typical jewelry distribution
channel involves 4 to 5 middlemen representing 300 to 400% in added cost. Putting
our products on eBay allows us to interact directly with the consumer at tremendous
savings. Furthermore many of our pieces
are offered on a AU $ 1 No Reserve auction where the high bidder wins the item
regardless of the price. As
opposed to most sellers, we are NOT retailers. We are a jewellery manufacturing
& wholesale company, and the prices we offer are the price that we would normally
sell to other wholesalers or jewellery stores. Our affiliate diamond cutting facilities
give us the edge in pricing, allowing us to bring the savings directly to YOU. |
|
Q. Do all diamonds have
flaws? |
|
A. All real diamonds will
have flaws. Diamonds are natural and the flaws they contain are also natural.
Based on the number and type of inclusions diamond are graded. Generally speaking
any diamond that is graded SI3 clarity and lower will have eye visible flaws.
Flaws can be white crystals as well as black carbon inclusions. If you are looking
for a diamond where you cannot see any eye visible flaws then you should consider
getting a diamond that is at least SI2 clarity. The same holds true with the color
of the diamond. Color grades D through H are generally considered colorless and
as you go down the scale yellow or brown hues will become more prominent. We advice
you to get familiarize yourself with diamond grading so you know what to expect. |
|
Q. How do you grade your
diamonds and will my local jeweler give the same grades? |
A. Our diamonds are graded
by a GAGTL graduate gemologist using standard tools such as master color stones
and high power microscope. Diamond grading is not an exact science. Human judgment
plays an important role in grading a diamond. To complicate matters further, no
two diamonds are alike. They may have the same type of flaws but differ widely
in how they appear to a naked eye. Hence, diamond grading is an opinion. Even
the two most recognized gemological laboratory in the world EGL and GIA have a
difference of opinion. Considering these factors there will always be a 1-2 grade
opinion difference. The most important factor to consider is the honesty of a
jewellery store. If you take a piece of jewellery from us and show it to a jewellery
store, there is always a chance that the jeweler will be bias because they are
interested in selling their own jewellery. 90% of jewellery stores have salespeople
selling jewellery who do not know anything about diamonds and their sole interest
is to sell you their piece and will say anything to downgrade a piece bought from
someone else especially on an online auction, like on EBAY! Since opinions are
like belly buttons (everyone's got one!) do understand that in a lot of these
quick 30-second jeweller evaluations mistakes can be made. Especially since most
jewellers wont charge you for 30 seconds of their time. We
encourage you to take your item to an independent appraiser if you want it looked
at. A lot of people think this is the same as taking it to a jeweler who also
does "appraisals". In fact, this equates to taking your old car to a
dealership and asking the salesman "How much is my car worth?" - you
can expect a very poor estimate. If
an independent appraiser is not available, another approach would be to take your
item into a jeweler and ask him or her to give you a piece similar to the one
that you have. Keeping in mind variables such as carat weight and quality - our
guess is that you will be quoted at least double of what you paid on eBay - if
not more! |
|
Q.
How are the diamonds or jewellery you selling differ in quality and price from
a local jewellery store? |
|
A. On
an average you can be assured that the jewelry we are selling is priced at least
50-70% less then what you will pay at a jewelry store. Jewelry stores have high
overheads and hence high markups. Pieces that typically sell for AU $ 3500- AU
$ 4500 at a jewelry store can be purchased from us for AU $ 600- AU $ 1200. On
no reserve auctions many times you can get a piece of jewelry below our manufacturing
cost. Being a manufacturer does not mean that we do not have any product cost.
DeBeers holds the monopoly over diamonds and 60-70% of diamonds in the market
are sold through DeBeers subsidiary Diamond Trading Corporation. The advantage
we have is that we are selling directly to you and we do not have high overheads.
In summary you can get deals from us, but your expectations have to be reasonable.
Some customers want to spend AU 1200 for a 1.00 carat diamond and expect it to
be absolutely eye clean and clear. This is simply not possible, we cannot give
you a AU 12000 diamond for AU 1200. If you are looking for flawless diamonds then
we suggest you go for VS & IF clarity but then ofcourse 1 ct diamond of that
clarity will definitely cost you an arm and a leg. |
|
Q. I am skeptical of buying
jewellery on eBay. What assurances you can give me? |
|
A. The best advice we can
give you is to check the feedback record of a seller. The feedback system of eBay
will give you a good indication of how a seller conducts his or her business.
While it is not possible to have a perfect feedback report, a 98% and up positive
feedback is a good sign. As of this writing we have a overall positive feedback
of more than 1400. This clearly shows that customers love our products and many
of them make their 2nd buy from us. |

paypal, you had another step to follow i.e get your address confirmed with paypal.
You need to contact paypal to provide you with a four digit no (an expanded user
no.) in your credit card statement. You have to then call up your credit card

Being surprised with a ring is a
magical moment that will never be forgotten. And with a little planning, it can
come off brilliantly Here are some ideas to get you started - |
There's something mesmerizing about
an orchid plant (or her favorite plant), especially when there are two diamond
earrings hanging from it. If she's a gardener you can plant it, but let the
box sprout a bit so she discovers it before she starts to fertilize. |
|
If she's a golfer, ask the party
before you to place the jewellery in the last hole. Then just hope she doesn't
scratch. |
|
Or take her on one of your favorite
hikes and surprise her on the mountaintop. |
|
Home is where the Heart is |
she's always telling you she's tired
of picking up your dirty laundry. Maybe she'll think twice about it when she finds
a diamond bracelet sticking out of one of your tube socks. Empty her
favorite food or coffee container, and the next time she opens the refrigerator
for it, she'll understand what it means for all the good stuff to be on the bottom.
Suggest staying in and watching a video for a change. Then let her open the
video case where you've hidden her diamond necklace. Call it a variation
on the "Princess and the Pea," but when she rests her head on her pillow
you'll be there grinning, knowing her new earrings are nestled under the pillow
case. |
|
Take her to a romantic bed and breakfast
and, along with the mint on the pillow, place her new necklace. |
|
Ask for Directions for Once |
|
When you two are driving along,
tell her you think you're lost. Ask her to get the map out of the glove compartment
where you've hidden her new diamond anniversary ring. compartment where you've

HOW TO FIND THE STYLE SHE WANTS
- |
|
The following steps will help prepare
you to make a wise choice when purchasing the most enduring gift of love: |
Pay attention when she admires someone
else's jewellery. Notice which advertisements or photographs of jewellery
she admires. Ask her friends and family what she likes Take time to notice
the other jewellery she wears-whether she prefers a simple design or a more unique
piece Note metal choice as well-white gold, yellow gold or platinum Browse
with her at a dependable jeweller Learn about the 4Cs so that you can make
an educated purchase Surprise her with the engagement ring that goes beyond
all her expectations |
Being surprised with a ring is a
magical moment that will never be forgotten. And with a little planning, it can
come off brilliantly. Finding her ring size without her knowing is not
the mystery it may appear. Here are some very easy solutions to getting her ring
size while keeping your gift a surprise. Keep in mind that a woman's ring size
will vary for each finger, so the below suggestions are meant only as a directional
tool for you. |
|
If she's in the habit of leaving
any of her rings lying about, make an impression of one. A bar of soap, a piece
of clay or even a piece of bread can be used to take a reliable measurement. |
|
You could even trace the inside
of the ring on a piece of paper which the jeweller can then use to determine an
accurate measurement. |
|
Simpler still, just put one of her
rings on your own fingers. Push it down as far as it will go and then mark the
spot with a pen. Then just show the marking to your jeweller who can measure it
for you. |
|
A friend of your loved one can be
of great assistance in this particular endeavour. It's not uncommon for one friend
to ask another for their ring size as a matter of curiosity. Just be sure you
choose a friend who can keep a secret. |
|
If you can bring one of her rings
to the jeweller without arousing any suspicion, this will probably be the safest
course of action. Offer to take her jewellery to be cleaned and have the jeweller
measure her ring at the same time. |

Q. I am interested in a design viewed
on the high street and my partner liked it too much. I couldn't see it on your
ebay store so if I give you a picture or describe it enough can you make it? |
|
A. We shall be pleased to make jewellery
as per your required specifications. Just let us know the design, gold and diamond
characteristics and we will immediately provide a quote. |
Q. Do you trade in loose diamonds
as I regularly require fancy diamonds to supply few retailers? |
|
A. We buy our diamonds directly
from DTC sightholders and hence can offer very competitive prices on diamonds
of any shape and specification. Please let us have your enquiries. |
|
Q. How are your prices as compared
to high street? |
|
A. As you might have already seen
from our prices on ebay, our quotes will be considerably lower than the retail
high street prices. Since you are buying at a wholesale price you can now afford
to treat yourself with bigger lovely diamonds which you may have just dreamt of
so far. |
|
Q. What is the delivery time if
I decide to go ahead and order one? |
|
A. Normally, we process all the
orders within 2-3 weeks. If the design is complex or diamonds required are fancy
shapes then we may need 4 weeks to prepare it. In any case you will be kept informed
on the progress. |
|
Q. Does my order come with a guarantee
and certificate? |
|
A. All the ordered items will come
with our guarantee card. The EGL certification can be provided on request. |

Even though diamonds are the hardest
substance known to man, a diamond will scratch another diamond. So it is important
that jewellery not be stored together since it can be scratched or tangled. Also,
diamond jewellery should never be worn while doing heavy work. Points are vulnerable
to chipping and even everyday activity can loosen a setting. This is why it's
important to visit a professional jeweller every six months to have your diamond's
mountings and settings checked. So
be sure your diamonds always sparkle, it is important to clean them periodically.
Here are some recommended methods. |
|
This is the best option. It's also
important to have your jewellery checked occasionally to make sure prongs haven't
bent or weakened. |
|
Soak your jewellery in small bowl
warm, sudsy water made with any mild liquid detergent. Gently brush the diamond
jewellery with a soft toothbrush while it is in the suds. Then, rinse each piece
under warm running water. Pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Make sure to always
stopper your sink. |
|
Place the jewellery in a small bowl
containing a half-and-half solution of ammonia and cold water for thirty minutes.
Lift out and gently tap around the front and back of the mounting with a small
soft brush. Swish in the solution a second time, rinse and drain on tissue paper. |
|
Use any brand name liquid jewellery
cleaner and follow the instruction given on the label. |

No one is sure how it was actually
discovered, but it is safe to say that at some point someone took the idea of

clean their precious diamonds. Simply let the diamond soak in a glass of vodka.
Preferably one you do not intend to imbibe. |
