The Vauxhall VX Collective
Who are the VX Collective?
The VX Collective unites some of Britain most exciting new talent from the worlds of fashion, art, design, sport and club culture to collaborate on a series of unique style and design driven projects over the next 12 months.Reflective of Vauxhall's commitment to producing cars which not only look and feel good but also inject excitement back into driving, the VX Collective is about supporting and fostering creativity and insight. The members of the VX Collective will be able top spark off each other, stretching their diverse talents while they, in turn, will help Vauxhall with their experiences and insight to remain at the forefront of automotive design, innovation and driving excitement.
VX Collective members include fashion designer Giles Deacon, dubbed he new Alexander McQueenfollowing his stunning debut at London Fashion Week in February 2004; product designer and Designer of the Year 2004 nomination Sam Buxton; and artist Lucia Helenka, whose works can be found exhibited on the international contemporary art circuit as well as in film festivals and broadcast on TV.
Sargent Cancer Care
Fund 90 Sargent care professionals, who provide a range of services. These include social workers, family support workers, grants, residential accommodation for families, mentoring and youth programmes. Their care professionals and care staff work in partnership with medical and nursing staff and become part of a multi-disciplinary team that supports families of children who have been diagnosed with cancer.The VX Auction for Sargent Cancer Care
To mark the launch of the VX Collective each of the members have donated a one-off item representative of their diverse talents. Each of these items are entirely unique and have been donated especially for this auction. All proceeds will be donated to Sargent Cancer Care:Giles Deacon A one-off hand-made necklace as featured in Gilesstunning debut London Fashion Week show, February 2004.
Lucia Helenka overcraft a limited edition black and white photograph mounted on aluminium, 16x20 inches. One from an edition of five, and signed and dated on the reverse.
Pete King A unique one-on-one skateboarding masterclass with the UK's Number One. The bid winner will also receive four signed Minute skateboard decks, caps and two zip-up Hoodies.
James Thompson An exclusive signed original VX Racing racesuit as used by one of the country's very best racing drivers
Ross Allen - A full year complimentary entry to Cargo, London, EC2, one of London top clubs, which regularly features sessions by Ross.
Sam Buxton IKRO House- an exclusive miniature fold out house, made from a single flat sheet to become a fully equipped living environment only 8cm high. Manufactured for production in stainless steel - a special edition in brass has been produced especially for this auction.
