More about VinylAttic
PLEASE DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN INVOICED: Invoices are sent within three working days of end of auction day (usually same or next day). If you overpay due to not following these instructions, no refund will be made.
UK & REST OF WORLD: payment via PAYPAL in UK£ ONLY (I DO NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER FORM OF PAYMENT; RECORDS CANNOT BE COLLECTED IN PERSON).
Items posted within four working days of payment. If item does not arrive within expected time, contact your sorting office in the first instance: many items are returned as 'undelivered' or 'not collected' (the postal services do NOT always advise of attempted delivery). Postage must be paid a second time for any items returned.
I DO NOT ENTER INTO CORRESPONDENCE AS REGARDS PAYMENT - ALL DETAILS REQUIRED FOR PAYMENT ARE INCLUDED ON THE ITEM AUCTION PAGE, HERE ON THIS PAGE & ON THE INVOICE.
PACKAGING & CUSTOMS DECLARATIONS
All records are packed with two standard cardboard stiffeners or equivalent. With normal wear and tear in the post, records and sleeves should not be damaged in transit. Cassettes and CDs are posted with bubble-wrap or equivalent protection. I do not refund for items damaged or lost in the post - once I have posted the item(s), it is the responsibility of the Postal Services to deliver in geed condition. For extra protection, see below.
If you want extra cardboard inserts, these can be added at .30 (UK) or .50 (rest of world) per extra insert (if you pay for this service, tell me explicitly in the message box on the PayPal payment form otherwise I will not know that you have paid for this).
DO NOT ASK ME TO FALSIFY CUSTOMS DECLARATIONS - the amount paid for the item will be written on the customs declaration form for ALL non-EU addresses.
RETURNS AND COMPLAINTS
I do not read My Messages - the only way to attract my attention is via eBay's DISPUTE CONSOLE.
if you are not happy with your item(s) initiate a dispute (you do this by clicking on the 'Dispute Console' link in your 'My eBay': select 'Item significantly not as described' and follow the on-screen instuctions). This lets me know immediately that there is a problem, which means that I can immediately do something about it to both our benefits.
Anyone giving negative or neutral feedback without first contacting me via DISPUTE PANEL waives their right to any refund. POSTAGE DETAILS - IMPORTANT
Overseas bidders please note - only the postal options included are offered. I will not post as surface mail.
NO REFUND is given for NON-INSURED items lost in the post. It is the responsibility of the postal services to deliver in good condition. I do not enter into correspondence with buyers if non-insured items are damaged/lost. To ensure you do not end up out of pocket, pay the extra for insurance!
Postage for shaped 7" picture discs and 10" records costs the same as the LP rate because LP packaging has to be used.
Double LPs count as TWO records; triple LPs count as THREE records, etc.
CDs and cassettes have to be posted in separate packages to records and will both incur full postage costs for the first item in each package.
LPs (this also relates to 12" singles/10" records/shaped picture discs)
UK - postage for one LP = £2.75 (each subsequent LP is £1.00 per LP up to a total of 5LPs in one package).
7" singles
UK - postage for one 7" = £2.00 (each subsequent 7" is £0.50 per 7" up to a total of five 7" records in one package).

If you are wondering quite when VinylAttic is going to close down, then so am I...it is taking far longer than expected to get all the stock onto the database and onto eBay. There's loads more stuff to come out from various cupboards and boxes yet!

VinylAttic is winding down - my full time job is now taking too many of my energies! However, it seems to be taking an age to get everything listed, so I'll keep on putting up stuff that hasn't seen the light of day on eBay yet along with relisting those I think worthy of relisting!
A bit about me, followed by a bit more about VinylAttic
Hobbies: collecting records; listening to music; writing about bands, researching and compiling discographies; real ale; red wine; good food; foreign travel; database and web design for fun and HUGE profit; etc.
Favourite author: Dorothy L. Sayers.
Favourite food: pizza and/or pasta.
Least favourite food: poison.
Favourite poison: real ale and red wine.
Favourite antidote: sleep.
Pet hate: the Internet!
And so on...
VinylAttic was launched on 1st February 2001 and must be doing something right as several wannabes are now attempting to trade on my good name - PLEASE NOTE, THE VINYLATTIC (AKA 'VINYL IN THE ATTIC') ON GEMM IS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME. As soon as I have sold off all my stock, I'll let the wannabes take over!
For those of you who didn't know, VinylAttic is a part-time venture only...during the week, I am a Technical Writer/Trainer at the University of Bristol. VinylAttic duties take up evenings, early mornings, and weekends, and I'm not as young as I used to be, so I'm cutting down on VinylAttic work prior to closing down for good
I have researched and compiled discographies for Virgin (1973 - 1979), Charisma, B&C, Pegasus, Mooncrest, Immediate, Saydisc, Village Thing, Amon Ra, Matchbox, Harvest, Manticore, etc: all are works in progress. Due to having my work regularly stolen and used in eBay auctions and in other commercial websites, all discographies have been removed from my website, except for the Saydisc and related label discographies: if you want to use any content from these discographies (all of which is copyright), please ask for permission first. If I don't respond, it does NOT mean that permission has been given - it means that permission has NOT been given.
My research on various record labels and bands has led to my giving several radio lectures on rare record releases. So far, subjects on the shows (lasting anything from half an hour to an hour and a half) have been:
The Virgin label between 1973 and 1975;
Bristol-based artists between 1964 and 1980;
Bristol-based artists between 1980 and 2000;
Rarities by bands who played Bristol's famous Granary Club between 1969 and 1975;
The Charisma label between 1969 and 1974;
Immediate label rarities;
Chug-a-lug!
Mark Clinton Jones, trading as VinylAttic.
