I would like to thank you for visiting my About Me page. I hope that you find the information that you seek regarding me and my business. Please continue to read. I offer New and Estate Items. I have a very small business. I don't have inflated prices, I have fair prices. I don't offer appraisals that I write up for you with what I think that an item is worth. I offer appraisals from an independent jeweler when an item requires it. Such as a for diamond solitaries or diamond bridal sets. I try to offer the information that I feel you need to know to help determine if you want that item. I welcome all questions a person sends to me. I am human and do forget. My father taught me to be honest.
Some Personal Facts...
I would like for those who take the time to visit this page to know a little bit about me. I am 35 years old and have been in the Jewelry business since I was about 8 years old. Yes, it's true.
My father was an independent jeweler for over 25 years. He had his first store while living in Hagerstown, MD. He then closed that store and we moved to Gettysburg, Pa. He had two stores there. One was located in a shop in the town's historic Hotel and one heading out of town. My father took us with him when he traveled to fairs and festivals. We worked most of the summer and fall traveling to different locations. I, as a child thought this was the greatest thing in the world to do.
My father then closed up his shops and moved to Altoona, Pa. There he opened up Harf's Wholesale Jewelry & Antiques. I worked with him everyday. I was sent to the Columbia School of Gemology to learn the basics. I worked with my father and grandmother from 1987 until 1994 in my father's last business.
I also worked for a major retail department store...SEARS. I worked for that company for almost 10 years in three different stores altogether. My favorite store was #2494, ALTOONA, PA. The co-workers were the best there! I worked in the jewelry department for about 5 years before switching departments. (Five different departments in all.) I worked on the softer side.
So, here I am...carrying on with my father's business. With the Internet as it is today and the amount of people it services, I know more people will view the items I have to offer then any shop would. Thank you again so much for taking the time to read about me. If you should have questions I ask that you email me. I answer all of my email.
